Pretty similar to mine. I ended up leaving Kes off because he was injured most of 12-13 and wasn’t quite himself in 13-14. Felt he might have prickled at being lower on the depth chart as well, though he was obviously a top 12 forward still in terms of ability.

Fair point on the righties though and that’s something Kesler adds. I ended up adding Hansen instead. I feel like even with Kes I’d keep Hansen and play Kes and Horvat as the bottom 2 centers over Blueger though. I like Blueger but I think Hansen’s just the better player and also has some chemistry with the Sedins if Burrows is slumping. I was also torn on rookie Boeser or Covid year Boeser. He was a more rounded player in ‘21 but was never the same shooter as he was as a rookie and I like that on the team given there’s a lot of more rounded players here.

For the defense, I think Garrison was really good his first year here and arguably better than Bieksa in this time period. He’s a lefty but played a lot of the right. You might be right to add Juice though as he was a natural righty and had chemistry with Hamhuis. Also had some swagger/toughness otherwise missing on the back end.
Totally forgot about Bonino somehow. Definitely has a case. Would easily be above most of my HMs.

Garrison - loved him. Thought Benning sold low on him with that late 2nd trade. But I couldn’t look past the Hamhuis - Bieksa chemistry.

I know Kesler barely played in 12-13, but he was still good at that point. And given the right hand shot at matchup line role, just taking him.

Bonino above Blueger.. I’d also probably make that swap but honestly can’t remember if he was effective on the penalty kill.

Marleau - Thornton - Pavelski
Hertl - Celebrini - Meier
Eklund - Couture - Zetterlund
Ward - Tierney - Wingels
ex: Nieto

Dillon - Karlsson
Burns - Boyle
Vlasic - Braun
ex: Demers

I guess Jones? or Blackwood if you're cool with smaller samples
Askarov

Unfortunately if we cut things off at 12-13 that means missing the best years of Clowe and Douglas Mruray as well as the likes of Rob Blake, Scott Nichol, Jamie McGinn and other role players. I don't love how heavily the d corps leans on the offensive side of things, especially the adventure pair of Burns and Boyle, but really most of the team's better stay-at-home guys were from the era just before this and I'm not sure I'm giving spots to Colin White or deadline acquisition Roman Polak. Maybe you take the tail end of Paul Martin's career and toss aside Karlsson on the grounds that he wasn't a Shark as long as Burns and Boyle were and that his career in teal was more up and down even with the Norris win?

And yes, that 4th line is as checking line as I could make it because I couldn't come up with 3 more strong star-level or near-star-level players up front. That's also why the 3rd line is Couture with two of the more fun wingers on the current roster.

BURNS TO FORWARD

I had Burns at forward in my initial draft to facilitate Karlsson being back there and not putting the two of them together. But then I started going through the list of available d-men and it was just so uninspired trying to talk myself into nothing names like Ian White, Kent Huskins, or those couple of games from Karl Stollery that I just said screw it because at least with him on the blueline I could pick a fun current team forward.

You could slip Large Human Douglas Murray in there. Or Mariorr Ferarro, he probably does well with Boyle. Though I think 24-25 Jake Walman might make this roster without reservations, if he finishes this season strong.

Also you have to find a spot for Granlund, no? He could certainly do a Chris Kunitz on the 4th line.

If we were only counting the player's performance within the window of 12-13 to now, that was the old, broken down Murray that the Sharks had just before they miraculously flipped him to the Pens for a pair of 2nds.

Ferraro has too much negative baggage right now for me to want to consider him. Also I didn't want to just make the blueline out of the top shelf scorers who may be question marks in their own end.

he was a late cut because he just didn't feel "sharky" enough to me. Obviously technically neither should Zetterlund, but he at least fills the role of a high-intensity winger. because I also didn't want to just make the whole forward unit out of centers.

I say walman then. He is good enough in his own zone this season. He made the OP's dream team after all :D

And I say granny is fair game, you can put him on the bottom line. He gutted out last season as our credible 1C. This is a dream team after all.
