Real dollar cost wasn't huge. Thinking maybe send a 1st to Seattle to buy one of them out. They weren’t t anywhere near 1 yr left. Doing that costed a fortune.

Hornqvist isn't going anywhere this sesosn or next along as the Panthers are playoff boundAs good as many of the Panthers contracts are, they're still gonna have a tough cap situation this summer.
There's nothing we can do about the first three, so something has to give with Hornqvist. He has one year left at a $5.3m cap hit, due the same amount of money in real dollars, all in salary (no signing bonuses). His buyout would cost the team $3.5m in real dollars and come with a $1.7m cap hit for two years.
- Yandle's buyout shooting up to $5.3m next season
- Darling's $1.1m buyout still on the books
- Bobrovsky being like $5m overpaid
- Hornqvist being overpaid
Hornqvist is a luxury on our fourth line, and he wears the A. Nobody wants him to leave. Which brings me to the way Washington and Colorado colluded on Orpik in 2017. Orpik was in the final year of a contract that carried a $5.5m cap hit, $4.5m in salary (no signing bonus) and a buyout penalty of $2.5m then $1.5m. Washington traded Orpik to Colorado along with Grubauer in return for a 2nd Round Pick. Colorado bought out Orpik, and he immediately re-signed with the Caps at a reduced cap hit.
Who is interested in being our Colorado? And at what price?
Was it cap circumvention when it was done the first time?
No, it was not.
Don't worry, I won't ask why it would be the next time, or why the NHL can't ever seem to be consistent on anything, because there is literally no point in asking those questions.
1) Because it wasn't against the rules.
2) Because now it's against the rules.
3) I don't see how any of this shows a lack of consistency.
AZ fan here.
To AZ: Lundell + Knight + 2023 first + whatever cap dumps you want (no retention), might include Hornqvist, maybe Montour etc it's up to you
To FLA: Chychrun
This significantly strengthens your D for the next 4 years but opens up a Lundell sized hole in your bottom 6. Panthers generally do not want to trade Lundell (for obvious reasons) but I just think this helps solve so many problems it has to at least be considered.
If Panthers don't want to trade Lundell no worries, I understand why
Think that’s a easy no for Florida
Fair enoughThat's what Panthers fans are saying as well. Ok by me we'll keep Chychrun
