I've been adverse to trading a 1st for Rust or Rakell but a package for both is a little more interesting. The problem is, both are Right Wingers aren't they? How many RW do we need? Raymond, Kane(resigned?), Tarasenko (couldn't play LW to save his life) and then adding two more on top of that? Hell, even if we don't bring Kane back that seems a little excessive.

That's correct ya they both played RW although maybe Rakell is LW as well if I'm thinking correctly back to his Anaheim days? Both have some physical edge to them which is great but you're right about the logjam at RW. Hopefully offloading Tarasenko gets done although I'm not hopeful

That, and Kane almost has to be pigeonholed onto #2 RW because he needs to play with skilled and responsible players at 5v5

I really like Danielson. And it would be very curious to see how their blue line salaries evolved with Mo, Ed, Dobson, and eventually ASP.

I feel like in any Dobson to Detroit scenario. ASP is going the other way.

That would be the makings of a great defense. Dobson doesn't PK or hit much but he feasts 5v5. Ed, Mo, Dobson would be awesome.

Saw people linking Dobson to us. But for what it takes to give up I don’t know. The tough thing is that our strongest asset rebuild wise is our defensive prospects. Losing a guy like Danielson if he becomes a 70 point player hurts A LOT. if we lose Nate we are back to having no center depth.

Would love a Dobson add, but it would make much more sense to make ASP the major piece in the deal, not Danielson. I know most here may not like the idea of moving ASP and keeping Nate.

Keep my boy Steve, he is still exactly what we want, has a good chance to be an another Anton Lundell type, maybe with more offense.

You mean other than the illustrated is for this year and defensemen are usually slotted behind players that they are not as good as?

And at this point, ASP is not as good as Noah Dobson.

That's closer to what I'd move for Pettersson than Dobson. Probably erase Plante because of the risk we'd be assuming with Petersson's salary.

Same. That's a bit pricey sending 2 center prospects their way. I would pack and move Compher and Berggren's belongings to Long Island though.
