Your nightmare playoff outcome scenario

Habs/Lightning with Hutson and Demidov going off then Lightning/Oilers with McDavid putting up 50 points, only to have Kucherov put up 51. And Avs swpet first round.

Um, lemme see...hiring a literal rapist enabler in Bowman? Fans insulting the city I was born, bred, and raised in when talking about Broberg's and Holloway's destination? Fans liking said posts that insulted the city I was born, bred, and raised in? No Oilers fan pushing back on the people who went personal with the city insults? Continuously making inane Parayko-to-Edmonton trades that basically reamed the Blues up the ass without lube in the process? Making ill-informed comments about Broberg and Holloway on a personal level (for example, saying that Holloway - who was born in Calgary and grew up a Flames fan - was always going to do a "hometown discount" when Broberg and his agent "convinced him" - obviously with a gun to the head, sarcasm - to join him on the Blues, insulting Broberg constantly, which, while, yeah, I can understand bitterness towards a player - after all, there are a lot of Blues fans who still hate Pietrangelo for choosing Vegas over our offer, as stupid as I think it is to hate a player based on choosing another destination - you'd think that after Klefbom's career ending injury, you'd think Oilers fans would be a little bit more sympathetic towards a player trying to get life-altering money.)?

There's a lot of reasons I don't like the Oilers.

Sounds like what every fan deals with. Also sounds like you are generalizing an entire group poorly.

You’re just taking it personally. The light hearted comment back clearly didn’t hit - my bad.

Yes, I do take insulting my city and the people in it personally. Wouldn't you react the same if someone attacked something you're proud of in a personal manner? The fact that nobody said that people were going too far - including mods, where if I said the same thing about Edmonton (not that I ever would; Edmonton is a beautiful city that I'd love to visit) on my board or on the main boards, I'd get infracted quicker than chain lightning - just soured me on the Edmonton Oilers as a whole.

So, yeah, screw the Oilers, go Kings, knock out Edmonton in four!

Plenty of Blue fans insulted Edmonton and the people. But nobody gives a ****. Certainly not enough to generalize like you are.

I'm a Leafs fan, so the Leafs getting beat in the first round (again) while every other Canadian team advancing would be my worst case scenario. If the Sens or Habs win the cup, I would have to probably leave this site forever.

Well Boston's not available so is that really your nightmare or just a bad dream since the nightmare is unavailable?

As a Caps fan, and with Pittsburgh happily unavailable, I'd say crapping out to the Habs in the first round is the worst case, no shocker. Losing to Dallas in the final would be #2 just because of NFL, don't want 'em getting their first playoff win over us in the NHL.

And I condemn their (and by "their", I mean most likely the one village idiot that most Blues fans barely tolerate who had to have his own thread made for him so he could keep his f***ing idiotic bullshit posts contained. If there's more, I apologize on their behalf.) posts unequivocally; posts that city-bash are ignorant and ugly.

Forgive me for seeing so many hilariously terrible for the Blues Parayko-to-Edmonton trade threads that got annoyingly personal on both sides. Forgive me for not seeing a single Oilers fan condemn the city bashing, seeing a fair few like those posts, and moderators on that board not reigning it in. Forgive me for not liking Stan f***ing Bowman and what he did.

Seeing the Leafs and the Sens both make it to the second round.
I'm not quite sure how these playoffs work, but from what I've understand from the smart people here, this apparently can't happen.

I think out of all nightmare scenarios for a team and its fans for these playoffs, is Leafs losing to Sens… it will be complete pandemonium on here, on tv, on radio, on podcasts, in Toronto etc etc etc if it happens
