How about we blame Kovy and the d for the loss? Not the guy who played what, 8 mins? Josefson needs to b me better, but he's not gonna win us games. Ya know who is gonna win us games? Kovy along with the ENTIRE d core.

I don't think anyone is blaming the loss on JJ. But he was lousy today. And that is not a good sign for the kid.

When was the last time Henrique scored?

The front end of the Pittsburgh home-and-home two weeks ago. He has one assist in his last six games.

And he still has more points than Zajac in a full season.

After the first period I stopped paying attention and stopped watching completely after the 4th WPG goal. But damn what happened? Elias, Loktionov, and maybe Bernier were the only bright spots I noticed. Larsson and Greene have regressed over the past few games. And damn we suck at holdimg the zone, mainly Volch and Sal. We didn't establish much puck possession, whether it was not handling passes or just being unable to establish a forecheck. And it's rare for this Devils team, but I noticed that te Jets outplayed us in the neutral zone. But I'm not too upset tbh. We started out the year red hot, and even though we're slumping, it's not like we're on a huge losing streak. In the last 5 games, we've earned 3 points. That's not what you'd call good, but gained a lot of insurance with our hot start and now that we're slumping we're are still picking up some points here and there.

What this team needs exactly right now is a nice game against a division rival. And no the Isles don't count. They need a game against the Rangers, Flyers, or Penguins. Unfortunately the next 2 are against the same kind of suck, chump, cream of the crap teams we've been struggling with. The former Thrashers, and BuffaLOL who are like the Maclean Devils right now.

These are the teams that this team doesn't give a complete effort against. Remember when the Flyers scored those quick 3 goals a couple weeks ago? They didn't give up, and play like **** the rest of the day. They battled back, and won the game. They didn't look like the flat team that came out in the 3rd like yesterday's or tonight's game. The bottom line is this team doesn't play many complete games against the cream of the crap. This is why teams like the Isles, Caps, and the former Thrashers are scoring 4-5 goals against us in a game, and we can't get **** behind their **** defenses who are among dead last in goals against in the league.

I don't know how to explain that I don't think Yayo is our only problem and that Matt Anderson is our savior. I am simply saying that this team is not doing well right now, so finding a guy who might spark the team in even a small way doesn't seem all that ridiculous. Sit the guys who you can afford to sit who are slumping and replace them with guys who will maybe turn out to be a great surprise (remember Gionta?)

That's all that is. Not saying it will turn us into Stanley Cup Champions, but damn, one problem at a time here.

Now I'm more than ever believing we don't play a complete game against lesser teams. Remember when we needed 7 games to take down the Panthers? Two OT's being on the brink of elimination? Then we walk into Philly and absolutely bulldoze them, and dominate the Rangers pretty good. I'm convinced they didn't take Florida seriously, and they said so themselves. It shows when they play the lousy teams now.

We need some better goaltending, we need the PP to pick up, and we need a penalty kill. We need to learn what a penalty kill is again. Although we almost killed that first one until Moose couldn't hang onto that puck. That's against a team that was 0 for 21 though.

Let's not act like Josefson is a bobby butler, or little gio. Guy was a #1 pick, who despite some injuries showed some real promise. Came into this year as #3 center, and I think it was reasonable to hope he started to make a case for some 2nd line minutes. If nothing else I expected forechecker extrodanaire, and the offensive chances would spawn from that.

but instead we have a kid who legimately should be in the minors.

No he's not Kovy important, but his poor play has left a void that others are being asked to fill.

I'm not sure we need to make a move that fast yet. I clearly see this struggle as a motivation thing. We have a ton of good players, but with Carter out and Barch needing to be in every game we have a 2 line team basically.

We have good players like Butler, and Loktionov who I don't feel are being used right. Loktionov has somehow gotten 3 points playing on 3 different weird makeshift lines too. He's also been our best player these last 3 games. He needs more minutes! It's no coincidence Butler, and Loktionov have points, but none on the goon squad.

It was a bummer cause we were real close to killing it. Yayo has to be better, but Moose needs to make that save. If that was Marty we'd be on the verge of another ''Brodeur needs to be sat'' and feed me a stray cat coming in here touting how Brodeur is nothing more than a below average goaltender in this league.

I think a big issue with the team is that players are being put into roles they shouldn't be in.

Josefson is not a 4th line center, CBGB is not a 3rd line, and Butler and Poni don't belong rotating on the top line.

We need a top 6 winger, and we need Henrique to pick his game up. Aside from that point streak he had at one point, he's definitely in a sophomore slump on both ends of the ice.

We might have squeezed out an OT with Marty, but to Moose's defense he played a game yesterday and he wasn't thinking he would play today until the warmups.

Butler has found himself on the scoresheet once in 12 games. And he gets PP minutes.

Not hating on the guy, but not putting him up as a bright spot either.

You could also look at it as Josefson trying to rotate to cover Gionta getting pinned on the boards, to which Gionta should have rotated to Josefson's man.

Yeah. You could add also that Kovy is on right wing. I'm not completely convinced that is working out. Everytime he produces something it's from the left. I know positions are very fluid but still.

It was on both of them, JJ should of been there, but Moose should most likely of made that save.

You are right it sucks because it was a good kill until that point. Lots of clears and we didn't really let them set up at all. Despite the goal hopefully the PK is starting to move in the right direction.

A trade would not do much right now because the problem isn't a roster issue but an execution issue. Your top 2 centers are invisible. Your bottom 6 is a jumbled mess. Not going to score much with that recipe no matter what.

Call me crazy but this Winnipeg team is much better than their record. And I think they're a notch above Washington. Still the devils din't play well, but Winnipeg deserves some credit.

The puck was in no-danger territory when he all of a sudden decided to leave his assignment and kamikaze out to the boards. The whole point of a box is to keep the puck on the outside. You don't panic if it's that high. You never, ever, leave your weak side high position to run for the puck on the strong side when the puck is basically at the blueline.

In any case something need to be done to adjust to this slump. I know I'm probably not popular saying this but I think DeBoer should make an effort to get Tallinder going. Our D looks like the freakin Flinstones right now. Tallinder can skate with the best of them and can actually move the puck. I wouldn't sit Fayne but Volch.

A not bad idea. I think we were upset that Fayne was out more. I think we all want to see speed on the D. Some puck moving. I hope something breaks the slump next game. Would like to see another good well earned victory. Many, actually.

Sure the Isles have Tavares, and the Caps have Ovy, but the Pens have Malkin, and Crosby and are on a way better team. We got blown out by them early, but picked up two very convincing wins in a row against them.

Also look how the blow outs happened instead of just looking at the box score. We were playing pretty close in both of those games, made a few mistakes, and instead of battling back we sort of just gave up and let it spiral out of control. Definitely shows a motivation and execution issue. We make a big mistake and then just come out flat afterward. It is something we weren't doing earlier in the year, or hell something we didn't do against the Flyers last week.

Maybe you are right we need another Atlantic game to get fired up.
