I think it was Marty St.Louis who said one of my favorite things I’ve heard in recent years. Can’t find it and don’t remember it word for word but it was something along the lines of being good being all about being the best player at 80% effort. Because no one can possibly play at 100% all the time. In my opinion that’s Jack’s problem.

We’ve seen him at his best bearing down for some good stretches and he looks like one of the best players in the league. The problem is he’s never gonna be able to play at 100% flying around all the time and it seems like the drop off in his game from 100 to 80% is horrible.

My biggest concern with him and the future of this team.
If he can't figure out how to be a net positive on the ice then should really just sit until his body gets right. He won't play basic simple hockey often and that usually gets him turning the puck over and being relatively ineffective.

Absolute trash. Markstrom is garbage tonight - and misplayed the ovechkin chance, and then the fat losers sit there and let the puck trickle along the blue line and zero of them make an attempt to get it??? Hence the easy pass to strome?

This is atrocious.

I don't know what's worse. Giving a 3rd pair quality mid 30s guy 4 mil for 3 years to play on the bottom pair or expecting a 3rd pair quality mid 30s guy to play to play in the top 4.
That’s why is mentioned earlier that Luke and Pesce need to be back asap. He shouldn’t be playing 24 minutes a game on the top pair. It’s bonkers.
