Better Call Sal
Salnalysis
Doom and gloom surrounded the team,
after a heartbreaking defeat.
But many implored for those not to fear
and prevent them from further retreat.
For the red and black had battled back,
often this year for sure.
That to call for this skid to be a foreboding sign
was perhaps a tad immature.
Yet once again, the Bolts were on deck
a team that's seen and done it all.
The likes of Stamkos, Hedman, Kucherov and Vasilevskiy
would make even the most confident fall.
An early goal against in both
the first and second frames.
Were we in for another one
of those frustrating games?
The man that they call Bratter
who was mired in a slump
took it upon himself
to give his mates a pump.
A mere nine seconds later
after going down by two,
came a touch pass from the Captain
to spring the Swede on through.
He weaved his way on through
pushing the defense on their heels
before rifling a dart over the glove
and restored confidence we would feel.
It wouldn't take much longer
before the Swede would strike once more.
A seeing eye shot through a maze of bodies
would restore the even score.
Like he has done all year,
our Captain would lift us with a scoop
as he rifled the biscuit through the netminder's legs
to shove it further up the haters' hoops.
Against the team that drafted him,
it was quite the moment for Foote.
And he sought his opportunity to snipe
and make his old team's chances kaput.
And so, the red and black
went back to their winning ways.
No, the season was not over
leaving the doubters in a daze.
But we return home to the Rock
for an encounter with the Wild.
And with the playoffs looming,
the crowd ought to be riled.
The home stretch is upon us;
the postseason can be tasted.
Enjoy this ride while you can
and don't let a drop of it be wasted.
