Best part of the game is that it's over
There’s hardly been any scoring chances for Detroit tonight.
They’ve barely outplayed us with this AHL lineup we have tonight.
This should probably be a 2-2 game and not a 4-2 game.
This could easily be a 4-2 game in our favor if Lyon sucked as much as Daws tonight.
Are you sure it’s him and not just the half an AHL lineup we dressed?
I honestly think the AHL lineup has a lot to do with it.
With Daws giving the most AHL performance of the night.
Finally, we can put the regular season to bed.
Time to gear up everyone!
That was a BS callSo what did Glass do there other than get held?
put the foil on...every game
He was ass all night.I just got home so haven't seen much but the Debrincat goal was ass.
wow, we need goals not slow slugs that play defense. He’s had a tough year but he’s a defensive forward.
They brought their f***ing toys.put the foil on...every game
Are you sure? That was most definitely a game of hockey.
Daws was the worst player tonight IMO.Given the lineup this wasn’t a bad effort. Daws sucked.
Dougie played well and that is all that matters.
I don't think Nico would love to hockey this game. That was most definitely a game of hockey.
Markstrom-Daws for 25-26 sounds about as catastrophic as Vanecek-Schmid 23-24.Maybe it's a good thing, I don't want Daws to be the backup goalie next year.
Daws though hasnt been given the reigns to a team thats defensively reliable yet.Not with a 35-36 year old Markstrom and no other insurance.
His NHL resume is just not good enough, with the exception of this year, where he’s played only 3 games before tonight? His AHL numbers aren’t so hot.
It reeks of Vitek-Schmid 2.0 from 23-24.
And Schmid actually had 20 or so NHL games played in 22-23, as well as being the starting goalie for our playoff series win. So he was more proven to that point.
I think it’s possible he can be fine next year in the NHL, but it’s too risky IMO. It’s a gamble. It could be a losing one if it doesn’t work out.Daws though hasnt been given the reigns to a team thats defensively reliable yet.
With context (prior to this year, and tonight lol) we know hes mostly gotten starts behind hampered and defensively-aloof squads.
Even then, between ages 21-24, I think hes been solid enough to get a shot in camp for that backup spot. And with Keefe's new system I think we can afford to wait and see how the competition plays out, instead of forcing a veteran and blocking that avenue
I think it wise to begin a youth movement in net; before we find ourselves going every few seasons into the well for a veteran rental
Allen will get much more than league minimum. If Jake Allen wants to come back and he is happy to sign for league minimum, i'll bring him back next season to backup Marky.
Daws is fine as a number 3 goalie. Yes, he will go through waivers next season but I think it will be low risk that he will actually get claimed. He didnt have a good year in Utica. Maybe that not all his fault given Utica team was trash.
