GDT: Your New Jersey Devils (37-28-6, 80 Pts) vs. Vancouver Canucks (32-26-12, 76 Pts), 7:30 PM ET, ESPN+/Hulu

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Holy crap both of these teams suck and weren't supposed to. Uh win for our poor fans and that inspirational no quit cookie. LFGD!

Apparently Demko might be back for Vancouver for this game because of f***ing course after the Rags blew up Lankinen on a stupid low amount of shots.........
He’s been pretty nearly as bad when he’s played as Markstrom has since he returned.

Of course not quite as bad, because I don’t think you can possibly be that bad.

Dick Tanket and the Canucks have punted quite a few points gifting him starts in between his endless trips to the doctors offices and hospital stays.

I knew Markstrom was getting the start. He was probably getting the start even if Allen had an outstanding game on Saturday. That’s what happened the last two times before a Markstrom start.

Honestly, Keefe needs to coach better.

They’re not letting Markstrom’s season go to waste. They’re going to try to get their starter on the right foot. Do I like it, no, but it’s not realistic to think they aren’t playing Makrstrom anymore. I guess you could argue they should’ve played him against Chicago next game, but at this point it’s whatever.

They should have played him against Chicago then.

If we go 0 for 3 on this homestand, especially in regulation, the fans will erupt tonight. I think they’re gonna go after Markstrom if he’s bad. He’s built up less goodwill with this fanbase than the likes of Vitek who was here for a playoff season (this season’s results pending) and Blackwood had two good seasons here. All those guys got Bronx cheered for making saves when they were playing poorly, but I think the fans in attendance are ready to turn on everybody. Particularly the general manager.

But I do think the fans will turn on Markstrom at some point this year if we’re out of the playoffs and he doesn’t start playing well.

I mean, maybe if we get another junk time meaningless Haula goal (or whoever) before the game ends that might quiet everyone from booing.
