This season in a nutshell. We were allowed to have 3-4 weeks of good hockey. Other than that, injuries, reffing, bad bounces, no good bounces, etc. We've seen it all. Depressing.

Gotta feel bad for the top line who played lights out and dragged them to a tie game late. I’ll give Kovy a bit of a break as he’s logged some tough minutes for us all season and done it quite well at times. Not giving Haula a pass though. If you can’t produce offensively the least you can do is give us a big faceoff or battle at the end.

At least it wasn’t the Sharks.
Not like we lost a point to them in the final minute of regulation.

Most coaches don't get to pick their own staff these days, or at least it's never been the case with us under Lou or Fitz. Shero I think gave Hynes a little more free rein but they knew the same guys anyway.

As much as it sucks to say, me too. This team shouldn't have that much of an effect on my mood.
The good news for me is that Nemec looks like an NHL player for 3 straight games, which he did not look like for the previous 15 or so he played. He's looking like he remembers how to play at this level.

also Detroit in was it the home opener? Kane shot a soft wrist shot right through him.
But coughing this up tonight was more of a group effort.
And Winnipeg on Friday. Ouf.
Do you trust Fitz to address the holes?

Kova deserves the Private Pyle treatment after that. Just completely braindead and lazy, he literally had one f***ing job in that scenario and it wasn’t even a difficult one.
And then Haula…can’t bare down for even ONE f***ing faceoff, probably the most important one of the season? This guy has done absolutely nothing for months, all he had to do was make sure he didn’t f*** up this one single moment. Nope, can’t even expect that at this point.
I legit feel like this is the worst bottom six we have iced in my lifetime…even worse than Lou twilight seasons. These guys don’t even generate any chances at all, like absolutely nothing. Basically amounts to two AHL caliber lines. I have never seen anything like it.

One of the only other positives is no one behind us gained ground. Columbus, Detroit and Boston all lose in regulation also.
Sigh.

They just needed to hit one one additional center and this team looks much different. Really frustrating.

Half of this team coasts around all game.
They really need to score first Friday, the vibes in the building can get really ugly really quickly especially if Putz doesn't do anything.

I think the guys can build off of this. Bratt, Nico and Timo had very good games. Let's see what happens.

The Sheldon Keefe Era Begins
I usually complain about refs, but the devils (Kovacevic, Haula) were so bad in those sequences that I can't fault the ref. Pee wee hockey training teaches you to gain the red line ina critical moment, or take a hit to make a deeper play. Or be smart with puck management as per old Ruff saying.
Particularly after this comeback claw back to tied.
Keefe should yell at those guys.
Markstrom also was shit today. First shot given up, last shot given up. Never made a big moment save from midgame onward when the team needed it.

Haula as it currently stands is not an NHL caliber player. Prime buy out candidate come the offseason
