Had it been a 3-1 loss, I would have just said they had a good effort but the self-inflicted wounds got to them. Had we fallen in OT, I would have been thrilled because of the comeback effort.

The way this unfolded in the end is just so f***ing brutal. But they have to be able to take the positives that they had tonight against one of the best teams in the league. You can't afford to dwell on how this went down. You have to move forward.

That was arguably their best 40 min stretch since Christmas, against a legit Contender, on the road.

To comeback. The boys being pumped up. Potentially giving them confidence. To only have a horrendous decision by Kovacevic, a bad icing call (IMO), and then the Haula line not getting the job done for 15 seconds, and not getting a save at the end….

Absolutely brutal. I will be back Friday night. Need a few days off. Hope everyone has a good week

Markstrom f***ing stunk tonight too, the Lybushkin goal and that Harley winner were so bad. Another game where the top guns play well and the SHITTY depth costs them
He was screened partially and the puck deflected from what it look like. It's not his fault they lost. They lose a key faceoff and scrambled in their zone. They all folded when it mattered.

I'm sorry, but I can't get on Markstrom for tonight. The Stars converted off of the giveaways and self-inflicted wounds we created. Markstrom still made a couple of big stops tonight when it could have led to the game getting out of hand much earlier.

Kovacevic had probably his worst game in a Devils uniform tonight.

Same to you, bud. I may do the same. This team is seriously affecting my mental health.

This game loss was worse than the one we lost to Philly (or SJ) where the 4th line was in the ozone corner and gave up a break going the other way to lose the game.

We clawed back without jack and easily made a point out of it, and outrageously didnt.

Honestly unlucky result tonight especially with that bs icing call. But the team is hard to watch the second we lose Hughes or Hischier. I’m at the point where I’m really starting to question fitz and his ability to build our forward group and depth. Pretty happy with how he’s built the back end but the forward group looks terrible and lifeless apart from a couple guys the second we lose someone to injury and sometimes even with a full lineup. Too many passengers who can’t do anything offensively. Haula, Palat, Tatar, Bastian, Lazar, Dowling and even Mercer and Noesen. How can we expect to win with that forward depth? Palat and Haula stand out the most. Two guys Fitz is very responsible for being here. If Those guys were playing worth their money our forward group would look so much better. And he drained the few skill guys out of our bottom 6 for grit. Boqvist (panthers seem pretty happy with him), sharangovich, and whoever else I can’t think of. Those are guys that can chip in offensively from time to time, help in transition, and put the others teams defense on their heels a little more when our top guys aren’t out there. The best teams have guys like that.
