They aren’t going to say “give up all hope and don’t bother watching anymore” right after we just scored.

So the game got allegedly “interesting” before the penalty.

With the way we've looked against mediocre and straight up BAD teams, I'm starting to wonder if we'll see games like this more often down the stretch when we don't go 3 weeks without playing a legitimately good team like we just went?

Obviously, this was REALLY bad, I don't expect it to often be this bad.

Hischier was playing for about four and a half of these five weeks. We’ve cycled through a lot of those “excuses” on this streak, from illness, to fatigue, shooting percentage regression, now injury - at some point if you can scattergun that many potential excuses, it’s probably not any one thing at any one time. They’re just not playing well.

And again, we’re talking about a quarter of the season at this point. I don’t know when exactly you have to stop calling it a “stretch”, but we’re getting there.

The problem is that no, they have not been bad for that entire stretch of games. Absurd. You’re including 5-0 and 5-1 wins in this. Shootout losses where they’re trying to beat Florida for a 3rd time are included in this. Trying to beat Carolina back to back on the road is in this. Not to mention the pants popping.

If we’re at the point where you don’t even want to consider that missing one of the best centers in franchise history and the best defensive dman in the NHL so far this year isn’t something that matters…not quite sure what we’re doing here. They stink, you win. See you in a couple weeks when they’re a top team again.

Exactly like this? Maybe not, but you can't deny there have been a bunch of disturbing losses since the break.

You know I'm not someone who comes in here and bitches for the sake of bitching, and I don't get too wrapped up in one game, but the last month has been painful and they only seem to snap out of it every 4th game.

Tonight is what some of the other no shows against bad teams would have looked like against an actual team
