He wanted to overload on D and it left the forwards shorthanded. He overcorrected both years after the big season IMO.
He needs to take bug spray to this entire bottom 6 after this year. I want them ALL GONE, entire facelift. Clean sweep.
Even though I don't dislike some of them, I don't see how you can come into 2025-2026 with any of Bastian, Tatar (he's not been bad for what he is, but he's toast), Haula (toast also, we can sign someone better, especially if we make him disappear), I don't even think I wanna see Lazar either. Most of them are UFA and Haula needs to be UFA after his buyout if he can't be dumped. Unless he's perma-LTIR bound.
We definitely need more forward talent.
Dillon for 2 more years at $4 million is also painful. I'd rather have Kovacevic for 2 years @ 4 million per after this season than Dillon. And I don't really even think I'd be comfortable with giving Kovacevic nearly that much, but Dillon is another piece of burnt toast.
