GDT: Your New Jersey Devils (27-17-6, 60 Pts) @ Montreal Canadiens (24-20-4, 52 Pts), 7 PM, MSGSN2

When they play for each other for sure. Problem is I see big gaps in when certain players are willing to put in that extra effort and try to make a difference on any given shift. Lots of just trying to give the puck to certain players and chip and change to not screw up instead. Mercer, Cotter, Haula, Bastian, and now even Lazar seem to have a lot of shifts where you're looking for that jump, that drive to fight through a check to get to the loose puck and I'm just not seeing it like we did early in the year. We need our lunch bucket guys to start grinding out more good shifts and shift after shift.
Haula's out, and I think he was dealing with this injury for a bit prior to tapping out. Mercer Lazar and Bastian are all in the green in terms of 5v5 goals for in the last 10 games. Lazar and Bastian imo are just now rounding into form after coming back from injury.

Cotter's on ice goal numbers are bad but his overall numbers are OK.

I think they've been fine in general, but whatever virus that is on the record as a real thing, probably has slowed guys down a bit. I do think Nico is the latest victim of it.

For those who didn’t get to see Lazar’s postgame walking in with a hot dog

Been to 4 Devils games in Montreal. I am 4-0

And that was from 2010-2013.

Theyve been dominant there for a LONG time
You are old enough to have traveled internationally as far back as 2010? OMG how old are you? Did you need a wheelchair to meet you at the gate when you got off the plane? 2010. Who can even remember something that long ago?

Made my first trip to Montreal when I was 19. It was that amazing Brodeur vs Halak duel with Parise winning it in OT

OHMY INDEED

If that is interference then the league owes us some standings points from the Ducks game, because their breakaway goal in that game had a player hooking the trailing Devils defensemen to prevent him from getting back.
Never said that was interference but I think most will agree that the refs made some really questionable calls against the Devils lately so it wouldn't have been a huge surprise if they called that one

Hey one thing.

MTL might be a handful in years to come if they pick the right pieces to add and get some playoffs before they have to pay everyone.
Caufield Suzuki Laine Dach Slaf
Guhle Hudson Matheson
Dobes

Even secondary guys like xerkaj and newhook seem like decent playoff plugs.

Yeah they’ve got some talent there. Demidov to come who has the potential to be a superstar.

I'm talking about how they've played since the holidays not just this game.
