That felt like a game out of last year. They came out flying, goalie gives up a shit goal, team becomes flat and the remaining game is them trying to get back into it. Proceed to get back into it and they shit your pants late/end of the game somehow. Keefe deserves this one on the head, playing MacD and then his decisions late with the game tied + trying to tie were f***ing ass cheeks.

tbh the only qualm I have with Keefe so far is some weird decision making in OT (wish we got to see some of that today tho lol). I think it's more on Fitz in regards to Macdermid/bottom six. The guys Keefe had out late are the only guys he could have put on the ice bc all the top guys aside from Jack needed to change. And Macdermid was brought in specifically for teams like Anaheim so if he's not going to play them who is he going to play. Not that I agree with that but Fitz was the one to sign him but hopefully now they'd see the cap space accruing from Macdermid in the minors is more useful than him on the team

Definitely is, people have bitched at me saying the team should've kept Boqvist over a plug bum like MacDermid but I'm not getting into an argument NYE's about the Devils mistakes. Playing goons in today's NHL are basically making you play down a man, it happens with every team has Ryan f***ing Reaves for the past decade until those teams realize they rely too much on the 11 other forwards. We bitch about the bottom 6 but that's literally one of the reasons why the bottom 6 sucks because you're already down a man there once the game starts.

I’ve been on the “trade Mercer” train for quite awhile now if the right deal presents itself. I wouldn’t be reticent to deal him as part of a package to add a top six forward, preferably a LW to play with Jack and Bratt.

I've been bitching about Cotter-Haula for 2 months now. Absolutely f***ing insane this is still a thing. Tonight was another night where that was the only line of the 4 that finished under 50% xG.

He's probably worse than Wood was. Wood at least slung pucks on net like a freak and created chaos. Cotter does nothing. I really do think Dowling's a better bottom 6 option. I'd either have Cotter up with Jack-Bratt or out of the lineup.
