Probably missing most of this one because I can't skip a USA-Canada New Year's Eve game. Hopefully the team takes care of business and no one gets elbowed in the head.

We've mostly avoided losing to these shitty humpty teams this year. Other than against Columbus and we got no goaltending that game.

Im still pissed about how that last visit to Anaheim went and how we absolutely sucked against suckie teams. This Ducks team seems to have more ball over last years. Won't be easy but, wanna hear the NJ supporters in So Cal "Woooo" it up. LGD!

Ah, well that was a 1-0 loss and Blackwood absolutely refusing to lose to us like DD always talks about!
Kind of agree. Tomorrow screams schedule loss as LA is rest and we would be on a back to back following long travel.

One good team on the whole trip so of course we play them on the 2nd half of a back to back.
Allen on short rest increases the risk of losing both games IMO. Maximize your chances at winning this game and treat tomorrow like a bonus game.

They landed I think a little after 12:00 PM on Long Beach airport on Sunday. They stayed overnight in Raleigh and flew out Sunday morning.
I have no inside information, this is all public info from flight aware. It's very obvious what flights the Devils or any team are using if you go to flight aware after a game and type in flights from that city to the next city that team plays in.
A bunch of the American based teams seem to use Delta and it's the same flight number every time. I think most of, if not all of the Canadian teams are with Air Canada.
And a few others use private charter companies, we're one of those teams. It used to be Swift Air and I think that was Interstate Equipment before that, but apparently we use this Ravn Alaska now. Not sure if they bought one of those other companies or if we just changed.

Sports teams use private gates in the back and don't have to go through the main airport lobby and gates, except for sometimes when it involves customs when traveling to and from Canada.

I resisted the urge to go to this game en lieu of staying home and watching this plus USA/Canada. Taking the train up early tomorrow for the game in LA.

Most of the time I'm for icing the best possible lineup and the better goalie against the better team, but I can understand starting Markstrom tonight and Allen against the better team tomorrow.
When Allen started the second half of the back to back I figured he wouldn't play two games in a row, despite the weaker team being the first half of the back.
i’ll be at the LA game too !
I’m curious to see if the Ducks play Gibson or Dostal. I’d feel much more confident facing Gibson because Dostal is the much better goalie.

Even better, I was wondering if they went back to NJ to wrap loose ends before a 2 week trip and fly out from there but going from Carolina is even better I assume
