Shared this in the regular team thread the other day, but it might have gotten lost in the Holtz/Lindy void. I think this is cool that they have a page for the Ring of Honor, and even delved into what's going to happen in the future and how they're elected. Pretty cool all around:
Doc and Chico please!

marty laughing at the end...

Loved Chico's commentary. I may have been at thst game. Used to routinely make Saturday Night Isles Devils tilts at the Coliseum. I miss that dump more than I miss our former dump.

Yeah it's not quite retire Jerry Koosman's number 45 years after he played for the Mets bad timing, but it is too bad that a whole generation's passed by since Brylin was a player and despite being on the staff it's not like he's an ubiquitous personality where he's still in the public eye a la a Salvador-type.
Sarge's humble-ness as a person, let alone a player, kind of works against him in this regard.

Oh well.

Devils better f'n win(or at least get a point) tonight of all nights.

McLeod line has not been very good since Timo’s return. I’d go back to Lazar-McLeod-Holtz and then Timo-Haula-Mercer. More balance.
Sounds right!

Sometimes you have a slogan on the moon of what will going on. Destiny is slaming at the door and avalanche will fall because winter was full of snow and the spring is hot and windy. But even if there are no real chances, some miracle can turn situation in different direction. Like Holtz desire to prove, like Nico finally scores and feel the taste of blood, like Daws, who can find himself in situation where coaches trust him and he is exactly that type of great players who is doing better with new challenge and trust, who is not afraid but want to be better and better. I hope today some of our players will understand that they are very competitive professionals who are passionate about this game. Im ok to lose this game from advanced stats point of view, but I will be happy if they will win it because of hard work, grit and desire to be on the step ahead and score.

Let's Go, Devils.

If Sarge had a bigger personality like a Scotty Gomez he'd had been in the rafters above the ring of honor. I'm perfectly fine with this. That ship hads officially sailed for the number 18 being retired.

Oh man, it's Sergei Brylin night already? That snuck up on me.

One of my favorite Devils from the dynasty era. Versatile as a Swiss army knife, could play up and down the lineup, responsible at both ends, did whatever the team needed.

I hope the guys give him a great performance, to match the heart and soul he always gave to this team.

Keep it rolling!

Bad news for the NJD. The NJD are screwed either way, because Pete just refuses to lose. But Wedge is better than any netminder the NJD can ice tonight. Thanks again Fitz. We could have had Wedge instead of VTech and goalie Nico.

Oettinger would also be embarrassing for the NJD, as he was picked after Nico and has been a better player in the league so far and a dominant playoff performer. Questionable whiff by RayCastron.

4-1 DAL.
