At this point, refs are just laxed with these calls. It's like the NFL with refs allowing fumbles being played out so you don't ruin a team if you manage to make the wrong call (calling it offside). Easier for them to go back and take it way, if that makes sense.

I get that line of thinking and kind of agree with it but then think about, which wrong call gets more slow mo replays and ridicule?

If they call offsides and are wrong, they drop the puck 15 seconds later and the game goes on.

A goal gets taken away in one, at best a "chance" gets taken away in the other.
