Saying a little prayer for the team tonight...

Severson was making more bonehead plays in his D+6 than either Hughes and Nemec are now. My guy is missing the boat on this one.
Severson’s plays were more one-off gaffes. On the whole he’s a solid, smart defender especially toward the end of his time here.

I think the argument here is that Luke, Nemec, and even Bahl lack the veteran poise and that’s understandable given their lack of experience. They’ll absolutely learn it in time, but I think it’s clearly evident watching Luke on the power play or Luke-Nemec when 6-on-5 situations arise.

It’s all tiny little details, but feels like those are the ones that kill momentum at times when veteran players have a keener sense of awareness. Feels like it’s an underrated skill set in defensemen that takes time to learn.

It shouldn't be surprising that Toffoli is getting the benefit of the doubt as a proven veteran over a player like Holtz who is working on establishing himself.

Of course they're going to lean on Toffoli more given his track record. Maybe they'll demote him eventually, but I don't think it's that out of the question to keep him in the top 6 to try and get him going.

If we're talking Bastian's placement over Holtz, that's another story.

Holtz could score a hat trick and get 2 assists and Ruff would find a way to praise Wilman for providing infectious work ethic that opened the door for Holtz to succeed.

I'm getting sick of the propaganda crew pumping the stock of tryhard AHL'ers on the MSG broadcast.

Willman, Tierney, Foote... These calibre of players would not get a sniff if they had a healthy roster.

No Sal, I don't need you to talk to me about Foote's time in Nashville. IDGAF. Guy sucks.

I actually like Willman

That still doesn't change the fact that the "young D's inexperience" isn't really an issue. Maybe it's the separating factor from Luke/Nemec going from great to superstars but this whole idea that their growing pains is some massive problem and results in them being worse than Graves/Sevo is nonsense. They're already better than those guys.
