I'm gonna be honest. I had the TV on but totally tuned out the last several minutes of that period watching Uncle Roger videos. This hockey isn't fun to watch.

Honestly, it wasn’t an awful period. The penalty kill needs to start killing penalties again. You aren’t going to win many games if you keep spotting a team a goal on the PK.

Yeah but what do Vaneceks numbers look like if we take out his bad games? Also Blackwood had that good stretch his rookie year, so he's also better than Akira. Daws was light years ahead of him last year so thats 3. Bernier is a Stanley Cup champion.

Akira is quite clearly the 5th best goalie in the organisation (not including Marty or Chico) and easily the starter in the ECHL, I agree.

If they keep playing like this it might be better to just let Mac get shelled. Let Schmid go back to Utica on a relatively high note instead of feeling responsible for this ship sinking.

The whole team just feels...off. Like they're not atrocious but everything seems just a little off.

Feel like our biggest issue right now is our d core. Particularly Dougie and Siegs (and graves to a lesser extent).

When things were going well they were getting pucks, winning battles, making some quick passes and plays to get us out of the zone with speed. And that led to more offense because we’re a good rush team with speed.

Now they’re just throwing it wherever, losing battles and not giving us a chance to exit the zone with any speed.
If they don’t lose the battle it’s getting rimmed along the boards where a forward may or may not be. If a forward is there, all they can do is try to win a puck battle and chip it out. So we’re never exiting with speed and possession. Can’t create off the rush, harder to keep possession and just kills our offense right from the start.

Don’t think our forward group is playing that great either but I don’t think their being put in great spots and seem to be expending all their energy picking up rims and trying to win battles to just get it over our d line.
