I’ve now watched it 4x. The most times I’ve ever watched an extended highlight that didn’t include a Devils’ goal. The only thing it was missing was a SHG by Haula, Bratt or Nico when they had their chances but Dowling’s soon after the kill worked just as well.

I don’t want to tear down Nose but he actually didn’t pass that puck.

His battling was key but Saros poked the puck away to get it out of the battle pile and Nico jumped on it.

He reminds me a lot of Maroon with his ability to pass down low. He’s impressed me a bunch of times this year with his playmaking from around the net and below the goal line

It's getting cliche to say this, but this is a game that the Devils would have lost last year at any number of junctures. That 5-minute major was a master class of penalty killing, and it would have absolutely rattled them before.

Next game is the final test: get a winning streak over three games.

I feel he’ll be a lifer as long as he can help it. Obviously as players get older and production becomes less consistent, you just never know. But he seems like the type who commits to where he is.

Im newly found fan, but i do feel nico will be good captain.

Not saying the Devils to make it or not, just stating the obvious. I've always had a soft spot for defensive minded centers (Koivu, Bergeron) but i feel like Nico might be an even better one.

Noesen didn’t send it out of the scrum, Saros did.

It’s why there was no assist and one reason Saros was so mad.

I don't know how often hearing results in only a fine so yeah. I'd slide Cotter up to Timo's spot and Tatar into Cotter's spot. 2nd line takes a bit of a hit but they should still be fine. I think the 3rd line upgrades. Would like to give Halonen at look over Foote or MacDermid. Bowers-Dowling-Halonen seems like a decent enough 4th line to me. Timo should also at least be back before the Caps so he's gone for 2 weaker opponents at most likely
