Its almost perfect. Still need an upgrade on the bottom 6, and even for top 6 of possible

But yes, Fitz did wonders this offseason
Leaving "offensive middle 6 winger" open in the offseason is the piece you want to leave open.

And I think if you're gonna need a 4C, this is a good year to get one.

It’s hard to go back through a game knowing how it turned out and be critical, but what happened on that Predators power play late in the first period when either Markstrom made an incredible save or we got very lucky? They didn’t replay it on the broadcast.

There was a quick shot on a rebound and it seemed like everyone on both teams thought it had gone in. Marky turned sideways on his knees like he was trying to trap a puck between his legs that had gone through him - and everyone seemed to stop until, wham, play started up again when they realized it wasn’t in. Markstrom then had to stop a Stamkos blast, taking it high off his body.

Really glad Nashville didn’t score there to retake the lead going into intermission. That was a turning point in the game. The first of several.

In hindsight we took way too many penalties against that team early but they didn’t execute well on their power plays, missing the net multiple times, plus we blocked a bunch of shots.

Also what a dickhead Lauzon is. That play where he threw Nico to the ice reminded me very much of when he did the same thing to Jack Hughes and Jack dislocated his shoulder. That was the 2d game of the season against Seattle here and it was Lauzon who upended Jack on a play that caused him to miss a major part of that season.

Its Always Sundstrom

Among the optimists.

Lol....caught me clicking play and takes 8 seconds to play. Oh well. I'm too lazy to fix it.

Thank you! Just what I needed!

This would totally be tragic irony if this is the game that got Brunette fired.

This would be one of those “god really does have a sense of humor” moments.

It still makes no sense to me why he took that job, that roster has nothing in terms of the way he likes to play, as evidence the 22-23 NJD and the year he took over Florida, besides Josi on the backend. Guy must be really loyal to Trotz + love the city of Nashville

I think it was just because it was the first offer he got to head coach.

It seems he played that style like Florida and us with them last year, but this year they got even older and way slower.

I'm just glad he didn't take the NYR job that was open at the same time, I think he would've been exactly what they needed. I'll take him back if we lose one of our assistants to a coaching hire and he gets fired from Nashville lol

Just got home from the game. It was a fun one live , they played really well. There was a stinker moment or so like the 1st goal and the breakaway for the 2nd but for the most part the Devils played really really well. It's up there with one of their tops games on the season so far.

I don't think Timo deserved 5 and a game for that penalty but the Devils penalty kill was amazing. 5 minutes and I don't even recall the Preds coming close to scoring on that one. The fans really enjoyed that effort on the kill , it was really the only thing that gave the Preds somewhat of a chance at getting back in the game and they got nothing out of it.

The Devils were dominant in the neutral zone tonight, especially on offense. They were getting the puck from blue line to blue with ease on so many rushes. It put the Preds on their heels alot this game.

All in all it was the Predators but they still have a talented roster and they did beat Winnipeg last game so they must of been feeling somewhat confident before tonight's game. It was a good showing by our Devils tonight , especially our Captain. Was great to see the ice flooded with hats and Nico really soaking in the ovation during his post game interview.
