Against all odds (and detractors' expectations) we came out the other side of the death march of a schedule ahead of the pack.

But now in comes a familiar face in former associate coach Bruno and his underperforming Predators.

Let's send these cats back to Smashville with another big fat L.

Nashville is a really bad team. Should really get 2 points out of this.
I think they are still a team that can be a pain in the ass. They put a few good games together lately. 12th in CF% and 13th in HDCF% via Natural Stat trick (hopefully that’s just due to game dynamics where they are trailing)

They aren’t great but definitely better than their record so far. I wouldn’t sleep on them.

Some Pred fans rooting for us to win so Trotz will fire Bruno sooner
As the president of the Bruno is massively overrated by HF Devils fanclub it actually surprises me that HE's seen as the problem there. But then again it reminds me of us with Pete in '13-14, the fans probably don't recognize it's the end of the road for that group being a year in and year out playoff contender.

Overperformed last year. Had a huge offseason and currently are one of the worst teams in the league.

They aren't going to blame Trotz so the coach is the next person you blame

How many hockey pundits had them winning the cup this year? Nevertheless, Devils still have to come out strong. Can't let Saros get into their heads.

home game versus a bad team after a tough stretch where we played mostly very well and beat a bunch of good teams, this SCREAMS trap game

So I suspect we're gonna win this going away. 8-1 Devils

I get Trotz is justifiably popular there but GM also isn’t the same job as coach. I don’t think we’d be blindly supportive of Marty if he became GM lol…giving a coach whose system is predicated on speed a bunch of old, slow guys was always a huge risk. Some of that is on Brunette for not adjusting though.

Trap game alert. Maybe less so since the Preds just beat Winnipeg, but they’ll need to look alive regardless.

Wouldn't call it a "trap" game. Devils have been challenged by the physical nature of the Central Division teams in recent years.

This should be a good test for if they've closed the gap or not.

I honestly think they were at the end of the road for being a year in and year out playoff contender even before Hynes was fired.

I can’t understand how they made the playoffs last year, especially with Saros having an average year and not a Vezina caliber one.

Them signing a bunch of mid 30s UFA’s like O’Reilly, Marchessault and Stamkos over the last two offseason’s is just baffling.

I was giving it to Poile at the end of his time there, but the Trotz GM era is off with a bang and a crash. It’s like Lou with the Islanders, only using the UFA market more for significant pickups.

My god beat these f***ers for once
We actually beat them I think it was the last time we played them last year. I think that was our last stretch of decent wins under Lindy. That was on the road.

But like Tampa, we haven’t beaten them at home probably since PK Subban still played there lol. And definitely since Lavi was head coach, because we lost to them every time we faced them when Hynes was there.

If I’m reading this right, we haven’t beaten them at home since Shea Weber was still on their team (never mind Subban) and since Lou was our GM.

We haven’t beaten them at home since March of 2015? TEN years? I’m not seeing any since then, though a few losses after regulation since then.

We haven’t beaten them at home since the N. Bench was the head coach.
