One helluva game from Allen. He’s been terrific.

Excellent games from Tatar, Mercer and Siegs (dude is playing like a beast).

The team clearly has commitment in sticking to the defensive structure and blocking shots. The guys are selling out to block shots and that is like night and day from last season. Terrific coaching from Keefe. Couldn’t be more pleased with him.

3 in a row against horrible cream of the crap loser suck teams coming up. Hopefully we take down all 3.

I'm so tired of watching the f***in Blues walk into MSG and get NUKED by the Rangers, only to come into Prudential Center reincarnated as the 2019 cup team. I'm pretty sure that has-been trash of yesteryear team lost to the Islanders tonight.

And f*** Nashville. I've been laughing my ass off at that OLD, UFA manufactured mess all season long.

''Did you see what we did? We signed a bunch of 34 year olds! We're contenders now! We even got the 2019 Conn Smythe winner the year before in free agency!''.

I wanna see a Frank Vincent and company on Joe Pesci like beatdown on them on Monday.
1-1-1 it is.

I think at some point they are going to have to add a middle six forward
Yeah you just get 1 more and then figure out what works best to fill out the top 9 around the big 4 between acquisition, cotter, mercer, tatar, haula, palat, noesen, with the odd man out being pushed to the 4th line, or in Tatar case MAYBE the press box if/when Lazar gets back.

Then I'd still say add a 4C

If we can get an AHL guy to help there in one of these trades as a throw in I think that would be important

Really liked the Tatar-Dowling-Cotter line tonight.

Tatar in his non MacDermid minutes this year has been incredible. Outscored 4-0 with him with a 39% CF and 37% xG. Without him he's up 10-3 in goals 56% CF and 57% xG. I still want him moved back up the lineup. He's too good to be on the 4th line.

I think at some point they are going to have to add a middle six forward

I brought up Giroux earlier today. His NMC limits Ottawa's options and lowers the price. If we're on the list I'd love him. Great player, gives some center help, another right shot, good defensively,

To at least partially interrupt the good vibes, there's a mainboard thread titled ''Has John Hynes improved?'' where the OP has linked search results containing all the shit talking HF has done (many from our board) about Hynes over the last decade.

I haven't stopped laughing since I read that. The thread title wasn't as funny as much as the links to the posts about Hynes slander from the past lol.

Middle of the road 5 on 5. They gotta change that.
Meh.

If you look at the individuals you don't get as worried.

everyone around or above 50% 5v5 except dowling, macdermid, and the nemec- casey pairing.

Nemec-Casey got replaced, and you expect dowling and macdermid to be out of the lineup come playoff time

The best thing about these Eastern Conference wins is that they are regulation wins. We are getting leads and holding on to them, which is something the team was terrible at under Ruff. Even 1 goal leads which should feel uncertain end up as regulation wins, which means that the team as a whole is buying in and paying attention to the details.

Additionally, we will be competing with Florida, Carolina, and Washington for position later in the year. Not giving them pity points will be very valuable going forward.
