I think they've overachieved a little bit, though not nearly to the level of last year.

When I say overachieved I'm talking the difference between a couple fewer wins and what they have. Not between what they have and being a 500 or non-playoff team right now.

They had a shooting percentage over 4% higher than league average not even a week ago, if I recall correctly.

They've played well this year, just not top of the conference or division well.

With the obvious “it’s the regular season” caveat, I’m super impressed by Keefe and what he’s done here in a relatively short time.

I didn't watch the leafs, like ever. I just wonder if they were this good as well? I don't mean the record. The physical play, the interior play, and the defensive structure (I'm guessing this part they did well). It's hard to see something like this just completely fold in the playoffs. This is literally how you win in the playoffs

Devils are 12-0 when carrying a lead into the 3rd now. They have learned how to lock it down and close out good games that they should be winning.
