Again, every game can't be treated as an indicator of the team's identity. There's 82 of these things, there will always be ebbs and flows in a team's performance. Obviously this is a big one and has a lot of stakes surrounding it this early in the season, but let's not gloss over what they just did on the road to the defending champs at the same time.

Keefe said it best yesterday in his media availability that he feels that they're in a good place and that they are playing much better in this past 10 game stretch vs. the first 10 games. But they need to strive for consistency, especially against the best teams in the league.

I'm excited for this one. Feels like playoff-stake level hockey in November. Beautiful thing.
agree to an extent. this team has played way better but still they have a tendency to get caved in by teams like this. florida they did great absolutely but dont fall back into bad habits.

I think they're going to get smoked, depends on which Markstrom shows up. The Canes can score a bunch without giving up much, if anything, going to be a tough one.

A win at home against this PITA team would be huge.

this really, and that doesn't give me a lot of confidence

Canes games always come down to how well you breakout. They didn’t have it earlier this season in Raleigh. I’m hopeful after some rest and practice they’ll be better prepared for the Canes aggressive forecheck.

If I remember correctly, they didn't have Luke and Pesce that game either, that should help. Less minutes to Dillon-Hamilton and more to Luke -Pesce to help with that

Last I checked, the Devils are in the top 7 in the league in both goals scored and goals allowed per game. We can score a lot and give up not many too.

Small peepee vibes in here still

Sad
Carolina are playing out of this world hockey lately and they’ve had our number. I don’t blame people for being skeptic.

With that being said, we’ve upped our play a lot since the first game against them. If they breakout and counter their forecheck they can 100% win this game. Should be a fun game.

I mean yes, that can be said for any team about to play the Canes or lets say a doubleheader against the Panthers who were on a winning streak.

Team has given the fans a reason to be more optimistic.

Palot on the 1st line
Dillon and Hamilton the 1st pairing
and that hilarious 4th line all adds up to a recipe for disaster! 🤪
4th line is MacDermid taken out for Bowers, so that should be an improvement.

I think Dillon and Hamilton has been written as the first pairing the entire year, but I’m pretty sure they’ve been giving the Siegs-Kovy pairing the tougher work recently.

in the Tampa game, Hughes/Pesce were actually the #1 D pair based on 5 on 5 ice time. By a decent margin.

In the 2nd Florida game, Siegs played way more than any other D at 5 on 5, but then Hamilton, Hughes, Pesce, and Dillon were all pretty close.

So seems like they've been mixing it up a bit.
