How is Tallinder speedy? Once he gets moving he has average speed, but he's got no burst at all. Looks like he's skating in sand. Larsson makes him look slow and he has average speed.

I sat around a bunch of really cool Islanders fans, though I was surrounded by more Devils fans :laugh:
 
At the start of the season I gave Zajac the benefit of the doubt, shaking some rust off, only a few games in

It's been 15 games now and although other parts of his game have been good, he still doesn't have much of a jump in his step, he is often doing a lot of reaching and isn't winning puck battles like we know he can

We should all give the Isles fans a break.

They had to be aggrevated by the mass amounts of Devils jerseys in the crowd.
Plus they kind of know their team is going nowhere again this season.
Let em enjoy the win and talk a little trash for a night.

They can have a bright future if they have a few smart offseasons.
Tavares is a legitimate star in this league.

Then at one point he said they should go to a game with him. At that point I said we have to go, stepped between him and them and shuffled them out of there. It was pretty creepy. If it was a couple of guys he was talking to, that conversation wouldn't have lasted long. He was trying to pick-up your sister. VERY CREEPY! :laugh:

let me put my islander fan hat on for a minute here. that will not happen while wang still owns this team. snows hands are either tied or hes so inept at his job he doesnt make any moves. this team will not evolve until either A) wang sells the team asap and ****s off B) the move to bk brings in more money/respect from players due to better arena etc or C) both. i personally want wang gone yesterday, as does pretty much every islander fan. but its just not happening yet. he is a ****ing buffoon and im sure all the waiver claims snow is making is due to him saying to do things on the cheap and dont make any significant moves. they have so many picks, and prospects available to move, along with a couple roster players to make a move for better players/support for a starving and ever improving tavares.....yet they ass**** the waiver wire like its fantasy hockey. they have some really decent parts to the team that are crying out for support and get none. its sad really. but its out of our hands.
 
Yeah Sal and Volch sucked but what gets overlooked is the play of Nabokov. Blame our forwards too, they had a ton of chances but couldn't bury one in the first. Totally different game if that happens.

Moose was good but he was popping out rebounds like crazy and he admitted that it was a problem. Team game guys, lots of blame to go around.
 
people still rag on nabby, but hes a great goalie. hes not what he used to be but hes still got it. his defense is still suspect but hes still good enough to put up good numbers. id take him over bryz as far as russian goalies go.

Pretty bad way to lose, but it happens. The Isles always give us a hard time, no matter the outcome and their spot in the standings.

But sure, now our good streak is over and all or a sudden we've lost 2 out of the last 3 and we need to get back on track tomorrow vs Ottawa.

And IMO our record isn't THAT great, in my world a loss is a loss, no matter if it's in OT or SO. So in my world our record is 9-6, which isn't something to brag about. Just keep on doing the things that will bring us success and we'll be fine.

His line still isn't cycling well, but I think that will come soon. He's not doing as well as we know he can, but he hasn't been terrible either.

At least now he's hating on the Isles instead of us. Probably because the Devils' ownership situation is relatively settled now.

i wouldn't trust anything that guy writes, but hey let the islander fans deal with it now.
 
Apparently Fayne, Harrold and Matteau were the extra skaters after practice. Please tell me we're not scratching Fayne AGAIN tomorrow?! Unless there's some super-secret injury they're keeping under wraps this makes no sense.

Or they're showcasing Tallinder or something. I don't get it either, keeping Fayne out is stupid.
 
Showcasing Tallinder befuddlingly lowers his trade value. Never been a fan of his. He is awful.
