Your Favourite goal of all time

Well, if I had to pick one, it's probably this one:

This goal effectively won the 1988 Stanley Cup for Edmonton (in the second round). Once this went in to make it 2-0 Edmonton, everybody knew they were beating the Flames. And with that, everybody knew they were winning the Cup.

But there are others...

Just on the aesthetic level, another favorite is Mario vs. the Bruins on April 3rd, 1994. I love this one because I have never seen any goal like it before or since:

The patience and poise of Lemieux is crazy, and then he just casually steps in front of the goalie and snaps it top corner like it was effortless... it's insane.

I don't have just a single favourite, but one of them is this shorthanded goal from Game 1 of the finals of the '87 Canada Cup.

Makarov (Krutov).

The shorthanded goal in game 2 was way better. Likely the best shorthanded goal ever given the lineup it was against.

One of my under radar favourite goals of all time is Bure's SH goal against the St. Louis Blues in game seven of the 1995 SCPs first round series, to make the game 2-0. Him and Geoff Courtnall's brother are circling the high end of the d-zone, making Blues D panicking, the puck gets momentarily lost between Al MacInnis and Bill Houlder, and Bure just flies away and dekes out Curtis Joseph.

I was also relieved, because on the bench after the goal Bure removes his helmet and he's finally cut his hair short again. I was worried after the 93–94 season that he would go all out Jagr.

Was still a fan of the Avs in 2001 and the Bourque run felt special.

That Sakic goal (and people know which one already), that did seal the cup:

Bourque creating a bit of chaos in front of Brodeur net, Sakic shooting between Scott Stevens legs, just involved a lot of legends on the ice (Roy in the other net)

Not sure if it's my favorite goal, but it made never fails to make me laugh.

Goal itself was nice with Patrik Elias letting the centering pass go through to Adam Larsson. But the cherry on top was Elias avoiding celebrating with his buddy Petr Sykora who ends up falling on the ice. Elias laughing about it at the end of the clip is great.

The McDavid goal against the Rangers combined aesthetic beauty with pure hockey adrenaline with did-you-just-see-that bafflement better than any other Ive seen.
