Eichel easy

Matthews scores during the regular season, but can't find that other gear in the playoffs. Maybe one day he will, but Eichel steps up in the playoffs.

Eichel has made the playoffs twice--won the cup one year and got knocked out in the first round the second year. When I hear a player can step it up in the playoffs--I am thinking multiple deep runs

Marchessault was phenomenal because of Eichel. I don't want to detract from Matthews necessarily because he's obviously an elite talent, but you're sure doing a lot to discredit Eichel on your end. Vegas' offense runs through Eichel almost exclusively. Without him, and with their inconsistent goaltending, they probably wouldn't even be a playoff team this season. And that's before you get into his excellent defensive play.

Eichel isn't a product of the talent around him. He's someone that drives and enhances that talent.

Yeah, they completely sucked before they got him. Transformational.

Eichel is indisputably a superstar. He's 6th in the league in scoring right now, and led his team to a Stanley Cup while leading the playoffs in scoring.

I think he’s arguably a Top 5 skater. McDavid & Drai have each other, Matthews has Marner, Makar & MacKinnon have each other.

Eichel has never had a superstar teammate. If he did, I think he would be Top 5 scoring year in and year out.

As it stands now, the consensus has him as a 5-10 guy on the planet, but I have him inside the Top 5. He’s been the best F at the 4 nations IMO.

Matthews is definitely better than Eichel....just because Vegas won a cup doesn't mean he is magically better.

It's just crazy to me how one team can have two 100+ point players that also happen to supposedly be Top 3 defensive players in the league, and can still get bounced early. Every. Single. Year.

Well obviously Vegas has depth....the Leafs suck at depth compared to pretty much every other playoff team.

Eichel makes the biggest difference with the puck and Matthews without the puck. Larkin is a high-end 2C (1C if there are no better options) or an elite 3C on a stacked team like Team USA

Amazing that even after this tournament there’s still people calling Larkin a 2C

He has a bad back. He just isn't well and it's been like that on and off. If it wasn't for that he would be the best hands down on USA. Tournament wise would probably be McDavid Mack Matthews with Crosby still being the best for always being able to get it done, your Crosby being Tkachuk. After that a very high level grab bag with Eichel and other players in it.

Right now. Eichel Matthews Larkin in that order. Good team, quick, smart.

Eichel is my guy. He plays the game the right way. I thought he was underrated but the poll shows otherwise.

Eichel is a gamer, a guy that can play both physical and offensively, he shows up when it's important. Matthews is a gamer on a tuesday night in november, nothing against the guy but when it's important and physical he disappear quickly, he will score the 6th goal when his team scored the first 5 in a 5-1 lead tho

Eichel's playoff stats are marginally better than Matthews despite playing for a better team. Eichel also couldn't even make the playoffs until he was traded to a team that went to the Finals without him. Matthews also for some reason gets punished for making the playoffs at a young age and Eichel benefits because he never made the playoffs until he was in his prime when you compare career stats and not comparable age/experience stats.

I'd go for the 69 goalscoring Selke-finalist instead.

There's a reason Matthews was named captain even though Eichel has more experience being captain (Buffalo).
