Chicago.

1. Wouldn't have to move.
2. I don't root for the team, so if I do a bad job I at least don't ruin my favorite team.
3. Chances are I wouldn't be the worst GM in town regardless of how poorly I do.
4. Chicago is a great city.

Also no matter how bad you do, you'll still draw more than the White Sox. :sarcasm:

Sharks, hand down.

Great weather and a lot of natural beauty nearby. Great prospects and future outlook. Intense but non-annoying fanbase and ownership that spends without interfering too much. Generally smarter local population with a better education system.

Chicago cause I love the city, they have the superstar and they have a bunch of talent in the pipeline. They just need to get rid of the Seth Hones contract somehow.

San Jose is a close second.

Obvious moves include Granlund and Ceci out at the deadline,
No you really need to keep Granlund. He's a posterboy for someone who's been redpilled hard and a good reminder for the young talent on what to look out for. Granlund just now got his game together and he's about to turn 33. Granlund should've been a hall of famer but he'll go down as a borderline career 2nd liner and it's all because of his off ice issues. Keep Granlund and bring in Jagr so he can mentor and improve the younger guys off ice game. Especially Celebrini would benefit from this!

Just curious to see the personality here more in the poster as to what sort of challenge they would favour and what their favourite parts of being a GM are

Following 5 teams

Winnipeg , elite team
Vancouver, rising contender
Detroit, rebuilding with promise
Chicago, rebuilding with superstar
San Jose, struggling but has long-term potential

Bonus if you can post what some of your moves would be
its hard to say if you don't tell us whats the offer for the position money wise. For me I would choose the team that's giving me the most pay.

Even ignoring non-hockey factors its the Sharks for me rather easily. Celebrini and Bedard are a wash to me, but the talent surrounding Celebrini at this point is much stronger. Add in Askarov as a potential gamebreaking goalie and this is a no-brainer.

Sharks. I got more friends in San Jose than any of those 4 cities. Also if Grier is surviving there, it means I got at least 10 years of guaranteed job there

Chicago.

Hockey market with a potential franchise player already there. Attractive market for free agents as opposed to some of the other ones.
