What would be the ask from NYR for Ziboomafoo at 25% retained? Can I interest you in a lightly-used Swedish-Finnish-Iranian DJ?
A hockey trade for a comparable player. Futures just won’t do it and the two prospects once again don’t impress me enough.2025 Calgary 1st

What would we have to add?
Isles aren’t in rebuilding mode. It would be a retool to move out the aging veterans and build up with youth that can play under Roy. Moving Barzal for a hockey trade that doesn’t include atleast a dynamic forward coming back realistically just doesn’t work or help the Isles our.I actually like this idea tbh
I mean we’d be willing to give up first round picks and past first round players? If your not in rebuild mode then yeah likely not a fit but our management team has made it clear about trading picks and prospects for players now

They’re using Price LTIR cap this season and had to bump rookie bonuses last year into this season. What do you mean their main asset is cap space?!Why trade for one at the trade deadline and pay a premium? They aren't going anywhere before another 2-3 years. Their main asset is cap space so just wait for the right moment to strike. They could even land a top 5 this year.
They have way too many holes to make desperate moves

Unless you think Crosby makes you a cup winning team in the next 2 years, this is the exact deal to set the team back for another decade.Calgary 1st 2025
Habs 1st 2025
Habs 1st 2026 - unprotected
Owen Beck

Sidney Crosby
You seem like a wise guyDoesnt matter what happens, we are still sellers.
You want first round picks? We have a bunch of them. We don't need them anymore.
He’s not a true C. Habs need a C who can win faceoffs.I would try to get Zegras .
Not sure what the Ducks would want in return though.
Barzal isn’t getting the equivalent of 3x 1st +
You don't know anything until you do. Being overconfident in a core before even making the wildcard once with it is the fast lane to looking like the Ottawa Senators for years to come.Wrong. You can make those trades when you know you have all the assets you need to take the next step in the rebuild - Which Montreal is ready to make.
You don’t just go from a basement dweller to a playoff/contending team right away. There is a clear need at 2C right now and there is a lot of benefit for development and a team as a whole to play meaningful games and learn what it takes to win hockey games that matters.
Hasn't Turcotte been playing the wing this year?LA is indeed deep at center. Byfield is the best option but unlikely to happen. Former Caufield linemate Turcotte on the other hand may be woth a gamble.
And the UFA crop is devoid of offensive centers.
You tryna build a Smurf village? We have enough "little people" already!I would try to get Zegras .
Not sure what the Ducks would want in return though.
Yeah Malkin would be intriguing as a stop gap until Hage is here. Wonder what the cost would be on him?Unless you think Crosby makes you a cup winning team in the next 2 years, this is the exact deal to set the team back for another decade.
Who exactly will replace Crosby when he is done?
If you want a short term solution, I would take Malkin instead
LH center the team lacks
2nd line center even at his age
Only 1 year left on his contract
A mentor for Demidov both on and off the ice
Trading all your 1sts and Beck will create a huge hole in the pipeline, a team unable to attract free agents needs the influx of homegrown talent, unless your plan is to bring in all the local players for their retirement contracts like the Bergevin era. When does Danault become a UFA again?
I wouldn’t say Mesar still has first round value. Mailloux does. That's actually four. Both players were first round picks.
No one said we would be gutting our prospect pool for said player. It’s not an all-in move but rather just filling a huge hole for now and the foreseeable future. You don't know anything until you do. Being overconfident in a core before even making the wildcard once with it is the fast lane to looking like the Ottawa Senators for years to come.
Do you give up 11 m for gabe vilardi or wyatt johnson?Ep40 if you trust him (I don't)
Restricted fa's Wyatt Johnson & Gabe Villardi better fit but I don't think the 9m offer sheet gets it done. Do you give up 11m and 2 1's is the question.

I'd be willing to trade to picks in the 11-16 range this year and our 1st pick next year because I think Crosby puts us into the playoffs and likely past the first round. That pick would be 20th plus in my estimation.Unless you think Crosby makes you a cup winning team in the next 2 years, this is the exact deal to set the team back for another decade.

That's what I put down! zero protection. We shouldn't need protection on that 2026 as Crosby should push this team into the playoffs.I could could actually see this, but no protection on any of the picks
