I don't know about 5 seasons but it has just been renewed for a 4th season.

Showtime has picked up Yellowjackets for a fourth season. The renewal, which comes a month after the Season 3 finale of the thriller drama, was expected following the strong ratings performance of the most recent installment.

The April 13 finale became the most-streamed Yellowjackets episode in series history with 3M global viewers in seven days across linear and streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime, per parent company Paramount Global, which also reported that Season 3 was the series’ most watched to date as well as the most engaged on social media.

A cultural juggernaut lol. The only people who like this show are ditzy girls who think it's so cutting edge. I'd say it's probably the dumbest show I've ever watched.

yes it's basically trash reality/soap opera level TV masquerading as a top tier television show.

That being said if you want to ignore some subpar acting and shitty writing, the production quality is pretty damn good, and I still watch it as my 'guilty pleasure show'. If it got cancelled I wouldn't really care that much either (it won't though, Showtime doesn't have many hits these days)

I'm surprised the ratings are going up, I thought this season was pretty weak for the most part. Picked up alright toward the end, but the wife and I were quickly getting sick of it.

She turned me onto an Amazon Prime series called "The Wilds" which is a somewhat similar concept, but much better done, IMO. Unfortunately it ended on a cliff-hanger after 2 seasons.
