For Gourde the most I could see the Leafs paying is a 2025 2nd, San Jose’s 2025 3rd, 2026 3rd and Robertson.
That's probably more than a 1st, value-wise.
Eh I think it’s right in the ballpark.

Let’s say the leafs pick 25th and the sharks pick 3rd, and a 2026 pick loses 15-20% value compared to a ‘25

57th OA (2024 2nd) = 1.3
67th OA (2025 3rd) = 1.0
89th OA (2026 3rd) = 0.5

You end up with 2.8 total + Robertson

vs

A Leafs first rd pick which would be worth 3.4 total in this scenario.

So I think that’s right on the money if you think Robertson has the value of a late 3rd… not sure what the consensus on that is these days

The Leafs are no better this year than they were the same time last year. This time last year they were 21-8-7. 49 points in 36 games compared to 48 points in 38 games this year.

You either need to watch them more or pay attention to what you are watching because if you watch the games it's clear they are MUCH better then they were last year

They are 1st in the Atlantic, 1 pts behind washington for top of east... All that with his best player being injured/ playing hurt all year long minus 2 game( last 2)...

The Leafs are a very good team this year, at the time that I write this they are at the top of the Atlantic and near the top of the east in general.

But the Leafs have 1 major hole and that is 3rd line center.

There are other areas that could use improvement but 3rd line center is the big one.

Although it has recently come out that they would prefer somebody with term I feel like Yanni Groude would be the perfect fit.

I feel like a Domi-Groude, Mcmann 3rd line would be a problem for a lot of teams come playoff time.

If the Leafs could add Groude they would be 3 lines deep come playoff time.
not what the Leafs need, because if Matthews or JT goes down, Gourde cannot fill that hole regardless.
the Leafs need a solid top 4 puck moving RHD much more than any C

That's not true, when you are 1 injury away from David Kampf being your #2 center you NEED a center

if one of them goes down, its over anyways, Gourde will not replace any of them, he's a 3C at best, and i'd rather play Minten over Gourde as he has more potential
