Too many others I'd put in front of Yakupov.

Kuhnhackl sits as it is. I'd rather see what Guentzel has first as well. Unless they'll take that 5th we just got...but that's absurd so...

The time to get yakupov for a bargain is gone

Perhaps.

Wait he was gotten for a conditional 3rd/2nd and echl prospect a month ago and now he only with worth a 5th?

Weird how his value has dropped so low all of a sudden, after just being moved for a 3rd round pick.

As mentioned, the chance to get him for cheap has passed.

He was a HS the last 2 games and has 4 pts in 11 games (29.8 pt pace). There's no way his value is even the same as it was 2 weeks ago. While the OP likely doesn't work - I think a 5th is a little low (although not by much), PIT would need to shed cap space. Yak has a pretty manageable cap hit at 2.5m, however PIT is so tright to the cap that they couldn't mange that without moving salary.

A 5th?

GMs don't manage their roster like day traders. No GM would flip someone he just traded a 3rd to obtain (and that he knew would be a project) for a 5th a mere 13 games later, and that's even ignoring the possibility that such a move might simultaneously increase the chance that the 3rd turns into a 2nd to boot.

It's completely nonsensical from the Blues perspective.
