To PIT: Yakupov
To STL: 5th round pick
Weird how his value has dropped so low all of a sudden, after just being moved for a 3rd round pick.
As mentioned, the chance to get him for cheap has passed.
Yeah a 5th is absurdly low-balling the Blues. The problem is that the Pens won't deal anyone off the roster right now, most of us wish it was Fehr and like a 5th for Yakupov and a conditional or whatever, but that doesn't seem likely either since the coach/GM likes him.
Is that what consecutive healthy scratches does to your value?

Fehr is good for us. I think you meant Kunitz
Lets be real, Chris Kunitz is probably the safest forward not named Malkin or Crosby, on this roster for whatever sadistic reason JR has.
Hagelin-Crosby-Hornqvist
Kunitz-Malkin-Kessel
Sheary-Bonino-Rust
Kuhnhackl/Wilson-Cullen-Fehr
So where exactly does Yakupov fit here? Even if Rust doesn't have the offense for that line, a Wilson-Bonino-Sheary line would be solid and Rust-Cullen-Fehr is also good.
Oh yeah Kunitz retires a Penguin. Hopefully it's at the end of this season. I'd have Fehr over Yakupov though.
Yeah the real issue is subtraction if there are waiver issues, I mean losing Sestito might suck for having a fighter and a solid guy in WBS if he's claimed, but really, the idea of losing Wilson or Kuhnhackl because of Fehr would piss me off a great deal. In any case, the roster is fine. I was wrong, the real issue is the lack of upgrade on Chris Kunitz, but we all know the guy is teflon don on this freaking team and Yak isn't the right answer.
The lines are good right now, we have Sid and the BFF's, then we have one of the most productive 4th lines in the NHL right now and a rock solid 3rd line that is building chemistry every game. The 2nd line is doing well with Geno & Kessel finally finding some chemistry, but there is definitely a glaring upgrade opportunity on L2 LW.
What GM in their right mind would get a player for a 3rd then trade them for a 5th ten games later? This is idiotic.
