We'll have $27M in space for 2025-26 and only Faber, Rossi, Khusnuts and Wallstedt to re-sign, with Yurov and Buium coming in under ELCs.

$27M - Faber's $9M = $18M - 2 ELCs = $16M.

That's $5M a piece for Rossi, Khusnuts and Wallstedt and the later 2 aren't going to get anywhere near that.
Kap will be due a raise also.

That's in 2026-27 though
Correct

Regardless , the idea that we’re gonna be able to go big game hunting has been scuttled. There is no money for it. We will be in the same boat as we are right now. Maybe 4-5 million dollar depth signing and a bunch of contracts that can’t be moved.

Trenin's a good player and fit but with the tight cap this significantly limits the ability to add external top-6 help with experience for the foreseeable future, assuming that Middleton gets his extension. Just like the trio of extensions last year this can be added as another move that makes the Gaudreau extension look awful, he's an awful fit anywhere in our line-up and played like an AHL/NHL tweener last year. Hopefully Evason gets a job and takes him off our hands for free or minimal cost.

Definitely prefer Trenin on the wing, not at center. Fits with Foligno on the 3rd line if they're both healthy. Hartman's probably the best fit in between them but he's also the best fit with Zuccarello, and Johansson-Rossi-Zuccarello wasn't great in my eyes last year so we'll see how it plays out.

Banking big on our prospects being NHL scorers on ELCs.

Yes. This is the main disappointment. Konecny dream is dead.

Don’t mind the player, think he’s genuinely a decent fit but just another mind numbing Guerin front office contract.

Always the possibility he didn’t want to sign here, but I don’t understand why Guerin went with Trenin instead of offering Tarasenko a 2 X $5M deal.
