I don’t think our room operates that way. Players know themselves when they are bringing it or not.
I don’t subscribe to allowing the inmates to always run the asylum. The coach has a role.

Fine that players are part of the solution. But it can’t be the full recipe.

My opinion ofc

Knob thinks its 2 hits too many.

I dont understand it, having a team thats physical in the bottom of the lineup can help drag your team into games.
Well it's working, this has been an elite team under Knoblauch within a goal of a Cup so whatever he's coaching is working.

With that said, they could use a physical presence in the bottom 6 and it would be nice to get Kane back to add some piss and vinegar to the lineup.

Do you guys have to complain about Skinner in every thread? Sheesh.

It's really annoying and unwarranted considering his play in the last month or so.
He's given up more than 2 goals 3 times in the last 12 and one of those times was 3 goals. Some of you need to lay off a bit.
Yeah, I'm pretty critical of the kid, but he ain't playing, lol.

It only started when the one clownshow poster tried to be edgy and bring him in the thread.

For most of my hockey watching life I’ve agreed with that.

But I’ve never seen a lockerroom as mature as the one we have… so I’m giving them a break. Defininitely see where you are coming from though.

Idk man, every team is going to get some high danger chances. On average every team gets and gives up 13.

Seattle has 3 so far tonight.

At a certain point, if you get too harsh on people they'll just shut down. The team is working hard defensively and is bought in.

The other thing is - our xGA is low. Statistically it's born out that the teams doing it's job. We're top 3 in every defensive metric out there except for save percentage, high danger save percentage, and goals saved above expected.

On a game by game basis we give up less high danger chances than Sutter's edition of the Kings for f***s sake.
I’m talking specifically about our propensity to do dangerous cross ice passes at the opposing blue line.

These are things that a team can take out of its game to be even better.

I know we will give up chances. But we make very dangerous passes at the blue line game after game. It’s a trend and a noticeable one.

Why not be better? We could have even less dangerous chances against if we take most of that out of our game and put the puck down low instead

To be fair with the hits stat, even though oilers haven't been physical, you tend not to get "hits" when you are controlling the play. Getting a ton of hits means you don't have the puck, and oilers have had the puck.

I think adding Kane back will cause others to be more physical also, knowing they have someone who can back them up.

Otherwise its solely on Nurse and sometimes podkolzin/emberson.

Lol cool tower facts
I remember seeing a stand-up comedian one time that was talking about towers and was like:
"Eiffel Tower, what a view from up there. Sears Tower, what a view from up there. Calgary Tower, you look up at the office buildings around you and think 'wow, I bet they have a great view from up there.'"
lol

Brutal decision Kapanen and Kraken capitalize. Dominant game but self inflicted damage.

Best game I’ve seen from J Skinner. Finding holes and getting his shot away. Wicked wrister clanked iron.
