That was my thought last year. Maybe it’s something he can play through but surgery would keep him away for months. I was surprised he didn’t get surgery in the summer, but with his wedding I can see why he’d decide to play through.

Maybe there’s no injury but he was a 60+ goal scorer and all the sudden there just wasn’t as much behind his shot

It’s not that there isn’t much behind his shot. He doesn’t shoot. So defenders know he isn’t a threat and to play the pass. He’s lost his effectiveness. He was the best player in the league for 7 years. I’m not gonna say he’s regressing but it’s possible we’ve seen peak McDavid due to injury.

If has a lingering issue he should sit until he’s ready. He’s still a good player but he isn’t as effective as he could be if his shot was an option.

Great to see Skinner get on the board. Nice pass from Kapanen there as well. McDavid just doesn't seem himself right now. If he's laboring I'd love for him to skip the upcoming 4 nations tournament. We need him healthy.
