He has better skills than most think and his straightforward speed is at least AHL level.
With his combination of size, skill and straight line speed, FX should be at least as effective as Kidney.
Now let's see if he can gain the quickness necessary to be an NHL level player.

If you consider that this was a new position for him that he mostly played in Branford. Prior to that, he was a winger.
Someone in the Habs’ brass must have noticed something that other orgs did not. He may not have slipped to the 4th round had he been a centre at the time of the draft.
Marcotte confirms his deployment in Branford this season as a “converted winger”:
Arber said he has always been a Center other than his 1st OHL season
