One more regulation win and Florida can't catch us. Still need 5 more points to clinch since Tampa would have the regulation wins tiebreak.

Well another game like we saw tonight sounds good for tomorrow. For selfish reasons I'd love for this team to break the +50 goal differential, got upped to +48 tonight.

Interestingly enough too, at 77 points the boys can pass the 17/18 team (83 points) and come close to matching the 15/16 (86 points) and 16/17 (87 points) if they win out.

With all the focus on points, I just now realized this team has a much better points% than the 2005-06 team. .735 to .683 is a huge gap and probably not solely a product of the short season.

Playoffs notwithstanding, this is pretty easily the best regular season team we’ve ever had.

With Vegas’ loss, the Canes now control their own destiny for the #1 overall seed!

Holy **** what an insane choke job to lose that game in regulation.

With that coming close on the heels of getting pushed around a bit by the Coyotes, maybe we get a little bit of luck and Vegas cools off and/or gets in their own heads.

Another W. Nothing special, just a solid win.

Btw:Black hawks broadcast is without bottom ticker and a less invasive network symbol in upper right. Announcing team is very solid too

We did more than en

Comcast/NBC market so they didn't get "Ballyized" like we did. Is "Ballyized" a good term for this? Is BallyBalled better or NSFW?

I have been adjusting my sleep schedule (instead of not going to sleep/going to sleep so late it’s early, I am switching to waking up really early.), so I missed the whole game.

THAT BEING SAID, I AM PLEASED WITH THE RESULT.

VICTORY, CHECK.
FAST BACK, CHECK.
MRÁZEK REPAIRED, CHECK.
AHO HATTRICK, CHECK.
PREDS WIN, CHECK.
VEGAS LOST, CHECK.
DALLAS LOST, CHECK.

ALSO, DAMN. AHO’S FIRST AND NEČAS’ GOAL ARE NICE.

Not playing the other top teams likely has had an impact, but still, this division has good teams and we've been the best of them.

The President's Cup is a real possibilty. That's cool.

The Canes have controlled their own destiny for the #1 overall seed at least once every season since I’ve been a fan. What have they done with it? Nothing.

IDK, I'm pretty sure there were at least a couple seasons there when 0-3 out of the gate was pretty much guaranteed

Any other teams playing in a division with two other teams as good as Florida and Tampa? Not a rhetorical question. I honestly don't know but I expect not.

So I see Svech has been appearing on the scoresheet the last 6 games, that's good to see.
We should expect more from him. He has a horrible season. Everyone else is playing really well. His play is really disappointing. He is only the shadow of himself.

I wouldn't say horrible. He's on pace for 62 pts over an 82 game season. His PIM, and GV percentages relative to last season are actually down (I was little surprised myself). He's ranked 3rd on the team in hits behind only Cedric and Staal, and could overtake Cedric before the regular season ends. I would say his physical play has noticeably progressed, while the offense has stalled a bit (albeit sans SAT for most of the season). That's fine by me. He's 21, and we know he's a workaholic.

A player that can bring the physicality of a Cedric Paquette, but also contribute like he does offensively is a special player.
