Proposal: Wyatt Johnston to Montreal

Not only is Johnston more valuable than anyone on the Habs roster, but I don't see any player that would intrigue Dallas. They have a better player in literally every spot on the roster.

I think Wyatt is a part of the core moving forward. Benn will be 36 before next season kicks off. Duchene is 34. Dadonov is 36. They need someone to reliably fill in that production as it starts to wane or moves elsewhere. Especially with Stankoven having been moved, I think it’s unlikely they move another young guy.

Demidov would but Hutson wouldn't.... what? Lol

Hutson is a fantastic young player, but we already have Heiskanen and Harley to play the same role Hutson would.

We wouldn't be able to maximize his potential, so Hutson's value to Dallas isn't the same as it is to Montreal.

Wyatt is already a part of the core.

He's headed toward becoming a high-end franchise caliber player for the next decade.

Lol of course someone has to come in with the hyperbole. Hutson is more valuable already. Suzuki vs Johnston is a toss up in terms of value; there’s a chance that Johnston has greater potential, and he’s younger, but Suzuki is better right now and is still young and has development runway left himself. Touch choice. Suzuki is certainly more valuable to MTL than Johnston would be, that much I know.

And DAL would certainly be “intrigued” at the very least if Hughes called them up and offered Demidov for Johnston. Stop being such a homer.
