Wyatt Johnston, emerging young… playoff choker?

Considering this is his age 21 season, he has improved every year, that he scored 10 goals and 16 points in the post-season just last year and he’s being asked to also still be one of their top PKers and special teams players - I think we can safely chalk this up to a young star having a very rough couple of rounds while being asked to do a ton…and skip any hyperbole.

Was great last year so I wouldn't be too worried. But yea he's been scored on 28 times in the playoffs so far this season, which is 10 goals more than Dallas' next closest forward. Probably shouldn't be on the PK, if nothing else.

Following the path of Mitch money marner.

I think I've heard Marner was his favorite player...

At least Marner isn't a defensive liability.

Johnston is very young and I assume he's playing hurt, though. He was good in last year's playoffs.

Then again, Mitch looked good in the playoffs early on as well. We'll see what happens.

It must suck walking through life, watching a young star on a conference finals team, and feeling the need to immediately label their entire career over a 10 game stretch in a public forum as a failure/choker.

Having that level of despair must be crushingly heavy to carry throughout every interaction in life.

Dallas has a lot of depth and veteran players also. Lots of blame to go around. Edmonton still needs to win one more game.

There are not a lot of kids on ELCs in the postseason. Playoff hockey is for more veteran players typically.

He was one of Dallas better postseason players last year, just seems to be having a rough go of it this year. Coaching staff still seems to put him out there in the important situations, so have to think it's not injuries.
