Two triple threats then winners face off to win their show or three singles matches then a triple threat? Unless there's a bye like the AEW tournament.

Two triple-threat matches will be taking place on each show with the winners of each facing each other later on that night. Those who win their second matches will then book their place at WWE Night Of Champions where the winner will be crowned the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Brock takes out Rhodes because it's a triple threat and there are no DQs which allows Rollins to win Raw without Rhodes losing on merit. Edge seems like the outlier on Smackdown and the Saudi's love their nostalgia so maybe Rollins vs Edge with Rollins winning.

I'd like to see Edge win it. I think he'd be a good first champion to give the title seem credibility.

I don't think the first champion should be someone they are trying to build up. That can come later.

It's 2 triple threat matches, the winners face off against each to have a RAW and Smackdown winner who face eachother.

So basically you can argue 3 weeks of programming crammed into 1 night, 4 if you count them announcing the Tournament on TV

when was the last time wwe held a tournament like this? to crown the new champ? post attitude era.
WWE title was 2015 as stated above but they did a mini-tournament to crown the first Universal champion in 2016. It was two 4-way matches with the winners meeting in a 1-on-1, with the winner of that match facing Rollins for the title. This tournament featured a clean Finn Balor win over Roman Reigns, which sounds insane now. But I believe Reigns had just failed a drug test and this was punishment.

Roman dropping the title in the shield triple threat I think was the punishment. Believe the plan was for Balor and Kevin Owens to feud through the fall

The loss to Balor had to be extra punishment then. Otherwise, I don't think they'd have Reigns lose clean on regular TV with no build.

Whether they changed how they were doing it, I’m not sure, maybe it would’ve been Balor/Roman at Summerslam, but Roman to my recollection was always putting him over. That match was the first night of the post-draft ‘new era,’ so putting over new people was the plan, and more people were going to watch that show than Summerslam. It wasn’t just another Raw, that was a big show to them.

I’m foggy remembering the details by now, but I do recall that Balor/KO for the title was the plan later, because Jericho/KO for the Universal title was supposed to be at Wrestlemania. I don’t think Roman was ever going to win the title that soon after dropping it, you’ll remember that year is when he fought Undertaker, he didn’t need the title.

Vince was very intrigued by the Demon, that was August, they wanted Balor hot so kids would want to get all his merch for Halloween. Don’t know where that left him for WM though, they probably didn’t get that far with him.

Oh okay, I don't remember some of that. I didn't realize it was the first Raw after the draft.

I didn't think Reigns was going to win the title first but I just remember being surprised he lost clean.

Is it Groundhog Day? You show up like once a month, say a few stupid things and then leave again for a while.

*Cody hugs someone with downs syndrome*
smart marks: i hate that asshole
That’s not why I dislike him.

I know, which is why this guy is painfully nauseating. Cena at least feels genuine.

Like him as a worker, everything else screams phony to me. When he has a mic
i mean, if he's gonna personally do as many make a wish meet ups as Rey and John have done... but yeah, he lacks the charm the other two have
