Samoa Joe can go this route as well while developing his monster element. He's going to get face pops when he debuts so they should run with it to start and have him turn heel within the first three to six months depending on the reactions.

There really isn't anything to suggest that MitB will be on Mania as of yet but there's still plenty of time. Honestly, I would make it a co-branded show and either do two brand specific ladder matches for their respective title briefcase or two inter-promotional ladder matches with one being the men and one being the women.

I think it would be a huge mistake for WWE to not have the Money in the Bank as its own show. It's actually pretty successful.

Joe isn't an underdog though, he is a power house. It could work, but he would have to squash Miz the first time. Sami gives a long term story.

They can have Joe squash Miz similar to Goldberg-Lesnar, imo. Miz can say he was caught off guard and/or it wasn't fair because he doesn't pay attention to the "rookies" in NXT because he's a Hollywood A-Lister to give him an out for losing the IC Title to Joe in about a minute and keeping the feud going.

And what do you do when Joe squashes him the next time? Because, well, that is what you need to do in order to build Joe as a monster.

Joe should go straight to the main-event picture as a heel, he shouldn't be defending DB's honor. That's not something he would do... Sami Zayn on the other hand... :)

You have Miz pull all the heel tricks in the book and fight a competitive match against Joe. Frustrate him causing Joe to get DQ'd to setup the third and final title match which Joe wins. Miz leaves for a bit, shoots a movie, and comes back in the World Title picture.

You don't need Joe to be the underdog to be able to play off of being held down. I'm all for Joe squashing Miz to take the IC title. After a three to six month run as a baby, he turns heel with the title and then you have Sami chase him down...if not Sami on Smackdown then bring up Shinsuke to do it since the IC title makes perfect sense for what his career is thus far even though nobody outside of hardcore fans will understand that unless WWE makes something of it.

Miz has enough cred and heat right now that taking the title off of him will be a star making victory. For that reason someone less established like Zayn should get the rub imo. Joe will likely go right to the main event when he comes up.

Give Zayn a legit feud with Miz and a big victory at Wrestlemania. It will elevate both Zayn and the title at the same time.

The Miz should not be getting squashed right now. Someone should beat him in a competitive match, that way The Miz can seamlessly transition into a world title program - not unlike how they handled his US Title reign in 2010.

It's strange how on SD there isn't a single babyface champion right now. AJ, Miz, Bray/Orton, Alexa....

That's probably because the babyface side is paper thin....yet Joe and Nakamura will probably end up on RAW to have nonsensical conversations with Foley.

I agree, and not only for the Miz's sake, but also for the opponent's sake. The way Miz's character works doesn't translate well into getting beat by a monster. Monsters should get over by beating guys in which it is a feat of strength to beat, or requiring a showcase of talent. A guy like Miz, through the pure basis of him playing the traditional weasel heel character, is not a feat of strength to beat. It is a feat of character to beat the Miz, but that is not what a monster gimmick is built on. A monster beats the Miz and people just think "yeah, well look how big and talented Joe is, of course his superior in-ring ability overcomes him" because the heel tactics play a lesser role in a monster-based feud.

The true money in beating a heel like Miz is when you can build up a long storyline where the face can be the underdog against all Miz's tactics and eventually come out on top, which is indeed perfect for a Zayn type character.

Yeah at this point it has to be a Joe, Nakamura or Ambrose if he's the next feud. Miz is far above Zayn's level to lose to him. To feud with and go over, sure.

There's no babyface champ on raw, either. :sarcasm:

Well, at least when charollete regains at roadblock.
