Getting rid of that level of pass protector for a team that bled QB pressures last season is still bizarre, IMO.He doesn't run block well. He seemed to have so many penalties and excuses for their poor offensive line play. The Texans probably got tired of all of it.
Tunsil went in the same draft as Stanley of Bal. Stanley is 30, so even with OL who age the best outside of QB on Offense, it also may indicate that he wanted a new contract as he did sign a new one when he arrived from Miami via trade and that was when Watson was still on the team and playing. Been 1 year of Watson sitting and 3 years in Clev, so a new contract might be the main reason.Texans are completely rebuilding the OL. It was the biggest issue by far last year.
I'll wait to see what we do to rebuild it before I critique this move. But the value doesn't seem great.
Tunsil was the only decent OL guy we had.
