Wrestling All-Time Draft III - Discussion Thread Two

This is a game, a big part of that game is selling to your audience. Some people on here will appreciate your awesome knowledge but many will have no idea who much of your roster is so it's hard for them to vote for you.

I think everyone respects the effort you put in, but like I said you have to play to the HF Universe and try win them over with something they want to see.

This is exactly what I was going to say too. I tried to go for a "fun" card but with some good wrestlers too, and charismatic and well known ones. I don't have the robust knowledge Nameless does when it comes to wrestlers as I grew up as an 80s/90s wrestling fan, WCW, WWF, ECW and maybe some of the big japanese guys but thats about it. So Nameless's cards could be awesome, but it didn't appeal to me because of my lack of knowledge.

I kind of put it this way, if I had to buy a ticket myself and go to the event, which one would I want to plop my $ down for? That's how I vote really.

On a sidenote, what happens exactly if we kiss sisters in voting?

That was the sole reason why I wrote down such a long explanation.

Unfortunately...
It only helped in the first round.

I am happy with my card.

Under an east versus west theme.

I would also recommend that people check out matches from 90s All Japan.
That era had some of the best matches...
In history.

That is probably one of the most viewer friendly MMA match in history.

That was the one match I was not sure about...

For the record I loved your card. I was a little late to the Japan party but thanks to guys like Jericho and mick my curiosity was awakened. Some amazing shut out there back in the day.

In terms of match quality...
All Japan had no match in the 90s.
Frankly...
Even now...
Many of its matches are still superior to WWE.
Very often...
I find that I get a lot more enjoyment...
From NJPW and even Noah matches...
Despite the language barrier.

Agree on the 90s. Wrestling even on this side was better then. While I appreciated the matches and superior talent over there, the storytelling here was incredible.

Now it seems like everything is a spotfest which is cool but kinda dulls the effect of the spots. Still seems to have more edge out east.
I love NXT for that. While the stories aren't great the matches are.
Over here, with the big boys and girls the storytelling has gone to hell as our society is so worried about offending everyone that we won't say or do anything. Sadly, they don't even focus on the incredible skill sets either so we get mediocre everything. But that's another discussions altogether.

And great gimmicks...

Tourney is decided in last match, but Canada and Mexico are in it up to their last matches. Considered having Wright-Casas as a 30 minute draw, which would open the door for Mexico to win on tiebreakers (since MEX d. both USA and Japan) should the Nakamura-Hansen match also be a 30 minute draw but that seemed needlessly confusing and I wanted to avoid the Starrcade '89 problem.

I spent waaaaaaayyyyyy too much time thinking this over in April and May so thanks for indulging me.
