Proposal: WPG-PIT (Heinola)

Is this post legally binding? Deal. No returns.
Deal!
I haven't watched Glass play but as a high pick with some offensive skills, if he has any speed at all we could use that right shot.
And as much as I like Heinola, current Jets management prefers to play a 6'7" pylon on the 3rd pair.
Who am I to argue, the Jets are in first place!

Glass for Heinola does make a fair bit of sense to me, at least after Crosby and Malkin get back. Glass is a bland but safe bottom-6 center at this point, he's definitely more suited in a 4C role but can be a passable 3C with injuries. I would expect his value would be like a 3rd or 4th, which is probably a bit above Heinola's value but not crazily so.

Something like Heinola and a 5th for Glass is what I'd expect it to look like.

Would Jon Gibson be an option to shore up the goal? I know Comrie has done good when put in, but god forbid something happen to Bucky and the Jets have a final push and playoffs with Comrie in net.

Would love to see the Jets add Trent Frederick for a playoff guy as well, he is nasty to play against, tough and skilled.

Defence wise....I have a hard time giving up on Stanley as hes big, young and tough...but is he effective or a liability in playoffs? Could we add a proven solid defensive guy to the 3-6 spot in the d-core?

Gibson is not going to want to go to Winnipeg and the Jets aren't going to try to trade for him. Keeping the goalie room happy has been a big priority for the franchise - Bucky chooses his backup, and Flaherty has been coaching since day #1. What they're doing is working, and we don't want that dynamic to be shaken with a veteran outsider.

I guarantee we pick up at least one forward and one depth defenseman. It's anyone's guess who the forward is at this point, but I'd assume the deal will happen the week of the deadline.

With that said, a Heinola deal would probably be in the off-season since Chevy won't want to mix deadline deals vs finding a suitable landing spot for Ville.
