Confirmed Trade: [WPG/NSH] Nino Niederreiter for 2024 2nd round pick

I like the fit for Winnipeg with Nino. He's a good, versatile forward with that size that should help fill the gap Winnipeg has in their Top-6/9, that just got worse with the Perfetti injury.

Not gonna be a play driver, but they don't really need that. Does a lot of the little things that help make a line work.

Curious what the cost is, but it seems like a good under-the-radar target for the Jets. Can't imagine they're breaking the bank on this...and might well still have room to add more later as well. Also helps from a Winnipeg context, that he's got another year. Where it can be tricky for them to attract UFAs.

He has been mostly as advertised for the Preds this season. We had a very clear opening for a top 6 winger and he has filled the spot satisfactorily.

If I had any mild criticism of his play this season, I guess it might be that he hasn’t been quite as gritty/abrasive as I expected… but maybe he just always used to play nastier against us than other teams?

Sure would be nice to get a young D from WPG…

Predators are in no mans land

Zero chance at winning a cup, zero chance at winning the draft lottery. A lot of old and declining players with big contracts.

I can't imagine they'd be making many other moves as they have no real UFAs.

If anything they're punting on this season and trading the one veteran they can, i guess.

I wonder what they are looking to do longer term with the team.

his go-to for 'grit' is slashing which is one of those things, like interference (his second favorite thing, and usually what he gets...well media focus, parros loves him and so did Quintal and Shanahan), you notice less when he plays for your team

We got grit in spades so he really didnt need to be pesky.
