Also, for the amount that Myers and Chiarot signed for, letting them go was the right call.

Myers is a bottom pairing D wanting a huge deal, avoiding that deal was a good move.
Chariot is another bottom pair guy wanting too much term/dollars for his role.
The best move was walking away from both guys.
Trouba never was going to sign long term, it is what it is......can’t force him to sign.
Big RFA’s? Has the season started yet? Has other RFA’s all signed? Marner signed? Kami you complain about comments like this regarding the Leafs and then say this stuff, come on man.

Your GM was generous enough to give up a first round pick to move Marleau, you lost Jake Gardiner, and I believe you have a RFA named Mitch Marner currently without a contract.
Let's take it easy on any GM's job. Not as easy as you or I think it is.
Only D loss that matters is Trouba. The rest are not an issue

It's probably more emotionally based on Trouba basically forcing himself out of the Peg. But as a Ranger fan i'm gonna go to bat for the guy on my team if Jet fans bring him up in a Morrissey thread.

He’s a vastly superior skater whose game will age well. He’ll be a Dman in this league well into his mid to late 30s.

You are in a closing window. You need to replace Trouba is my point and he didn't, and the depth took a hit too. And now two top 6 forwards may miss camp and the start of the year.
A dollar out of JoMo's pocket is just another one in Chipman's, or Laine's, or another Jet's pocket.

Morrissey’s extension starts next year and will be mostly covered by Kulikovs 4+M when he leaves. This has zero impact or relationship to the Laine and Connor situation and negotiations.

yeah Trouba I agree but it wasn’t going to happen and Myers and Chariot being gone is good for the jets and damn it’s weird every other Rafa hasn’t t signed yet??
