Good news!

Plus, he holds the all-time NHL record for best team headshot picture, ever.

He looks like a scary hypnotist there.

Looks like a Game of Thrones character.

He's good for 50-60 games a year tops

Overrated

hes played 71, 62, 69 last 3 years...2012-2013 he played 39/48, then 64, prior to that he was splitting time in the AHL and NHL. not sure how you get 50-60 tops, more like 60-70

I remember him from the day he played on the Capitals.
Always liked him. A ton of skill and a big heart to boot. Back in those days it seemed that size was his biggest enemy and what kept him from getting a regular spot in the line up

One thing i distinctly remember is he always preformed best when he was inserted into the lineup.
He would sit for a while, get a sweater and start scoring almost every game. After 3-5 games he would cool down and be invisible. He gets scratched, sits some games out, comes back with tremendous performance after almost every scratch. Than cools down again. I definitely noticed a pattern.

There was reportedly mutual interest in getting a deal done, so I'm not surprised. Good news for the Jets...he's a good fit here and a pretty versatile player.

While he is somewhat injury prone, he has averaged 67.3 GP over the last 3 seasons. He also is incredibly versatile and does well on any line he's a part of. This deal isn't larcenous but it's a good deal. You can call him overrated but at least give us valid reasons why you think so. There's a reason there is overwhelming positivity about this deal from the fans who watch him play.

To add to that, he's also really good with the rookies. They really seem to shine when on a line with him. He will be great to have around to help teach all the young guys we have coming up. I wouldn't be surprised if that had a lot to do with the re-signing.

I'm extremely happy!

Not a lot of upside to the contract, as Perreault doesn't have any untapped potential at this point.

Some downside as he needs to maintain his current level of play to justify it.

If he stays relatively healthy it should work out fine. Winnipeg is likely never going to be a destination to attract outside FAs, so the occasional risk on retaining players that fit with the team and are willing to stay is a gamble they probably need to make, especially as they appear to be on the upswing right now and want to compete in a couple of years.

somewhere nice
I have mixed feelings about him from his duck days, I remember getting so angry when there would be chaos in front of the net on the PP and instead of firing it back at the net again he would skate it out and reset, to allow the D to reset, and I would lose my mind in the process.

He's good. Not sure if he's 4.1 good, but I'm glad to see he got paid.
